Robban "Beatrice" Fallows
15 / Male / District 10
AppearanceIt's clear that Robban's a bit on the heavier side. Scratch that, very much on the heavier side. Weighing in at more than 300 pounds, it appears this lad's been doing enough eating for three men or more. He (and his mum, mind you) attribute his heavier frame to genetics, as she's a bit weighty herself. Beneath the layer of fat there is quite a bit of muscle, likely attributed to the farm work he's been forced into as a member of District 10. Due to his large tummy and surprisingly short legs, Robban's not very quick on his feet. Thankfully, he's got some skills as a swimmer, partially due to his buoyant bod.
Robban's not much of a looker, unless you're a lass looking for the normal type. He follows in the Fallow's family tradition of being remarkably unremarkable. His hair is short and his chins are plentiful. His eyes, though blue, are small and set a little too far apart. Of course, the few lucky women who decide to give this bloke a chance will find that he gives a great hug (though it's best not to think it's probably been practiced on his mother). He does his best to wear clothing that fits him, though it can be a little bit difficult to find garments large enough in the Districts. Thus, his mom tends to make most of his outfits, often sewing a small sheet of fabric to the bottom of his t-shirts to help conceal his bulky build.
Personality
As with most men of a heavier set, Robban's personality is able to shine. He's had years to develop his wit, and though his tongue can sometimes get him into trouble, he oft speaks with genuine kindness. He loves people, and as such, has become something of a pacifist. Violence is not in his nature. If ever caught up in a fight, he'd likely let the other person prevail. He's not weak of will; rather, it takes a lot of courage to take a blow without responding in kind.More than anything, Robban enjoys making others laugh. In school he has been described as a class clown, though it's a bit unclear as to whether or not his personality or his body weight earns him the title. Being a member of District 10, he's one of the heavier people around. He accepts that he is usually the brunt of the joke, and tends to attempt to be the creator (rather than subject) of jest. At the end of the day, however, he's comfortable with who he is. It's taken him a few years to acknowledge that weight loss isn't in the cards for him, but he understands that he is the way he is. At least his mum thinks he's cute.Unless he's trying to be funny, this lad's a bit of a failure with the ladies. You usually can't make a dirty joke, nor an offensive one, while in the presence of the female type. It's a rare occasion that a girl laughs along with Robban, rather than at him, but this type tends to be the best sort of friend for the boy. Romance might not be on the horizon for Robban, but giving the woman a severe case of the giggles might be.
Backstory
Robban has had a pretty boring childhood. He grew up farming cattle, as is usual in District 10. At 9 years old, his father left his mother, moving to the other side of the District and effectively out of the boy's life. Sure, his mum might have gone a tad nuts over the ordeal, but it's not all bad. It meant more food for the hungry, rapidly growing boy.Once his dad left and his mummy went whack, she started calling him Beatrice. It probably started as a nickname (he can't quite remember), but it's gotten to the point where his friends have taken up the name as well. At first, Robban was a little embarrassed. However, he's embraced the name ever since realizing that it seemed to make his mum happy. His mum's health has been seeming to decline lately, and Robban has had to pick up some extra Tesserae to balance the household's slack. Still, he's not worried about ever being in the Hunger Games. Though watching the broadcasts are very heavily recommended (often using whipping as a punishment for failing to do so), he's never seen a single episode. Violence isn't his thing. He's only got a few years left, and most of the people whose name gets called seem to be of the fitter type. The boy's simply content to take care of his mother for as long as he's able to do so.
