Ditto - (Cargo Hold, Lab, Residential Quarters)
When the muttation technicians couldn't decide on one mutt, they had to settle for all of them. Sometimes referred to as a boggart, the Ditto is a shapeshifter. The Ditto always begins the fight ahead of the tributes. Every time the Ditto is hit or hits it changes from the list of muttations which can be found in the current arena location (e.g. if you face a Ditto in the Cargo Hold, it can only become other mutts found in the Cargo Hold). The Ditto accumulates damage over all the attacks on it, but it only dies when a tribute hits it for more damage than the current muttation iteration’s health. When it attacks, the staff member will roll to determine which muttation it is and then attack according to that mutt’s abilities/weapons. If it dies while an edible mutt, you will be able to loot the meat.
( HP, food classification, poison status, and attacks vary on the mutt it becomes )
Mountain Dweller - (Cargo Hold, Cable Bridge)
The Mountain Dweller looks like a horse/goat hybrid. Large, powerful, fast, yet fluffy and with long, sharp horns that curve outward, the Mountain Dweller is known for being able to stand nearly horizontal, in order to reach out its long tongue and lick the salt on the Crooked Mountain without interruption. Incredibly unpredictable, the Mountain Dweller could be standing still and licking one second and attacking with its sharp horns the next. Anything to protect its precious salt. Prior the the 82nd Games, scientists discovered that the Mountain Dweller could tolerate cold weather and surroundings outside of Crooked Mountain. Testing their theory, they placed the Mountain Dweller on the ice shelf, yet they have proved themselves to be quite the scavenger and flocked to different areas on the ship crashed in their territory.

Sheepish - (Cargo Hold, Aeroponic Garden, Residential Quarters)
A dastardly blend of fox and sheep DNA, the Sheepish are as sly, quiet, and elusive as a fox. They have a very thick, fluffy orange coat, with the tail, snout and ears of a fox protruding from the woolly mass. Their teeth are incredibly sharp, although the cunning animals conceal them quite well, looking innocent and cuddly. The Sheepish were attempted to be bred as a food source; however the far too little meat that they produced was far too gamey for the Capitol people. The Sheepish continued to be bred for their bright orange wool, which is prized by Capitol fashion designers.

Ice Monkeys - (Cargo Hold, Cable Bridge)
A mixture of a monkey and a snow weasel, the 'ice' that is on them is actually hydroxylapatite, else known as 'bone mineral'. To create the illusion that is it ice, scientists have modified the mutt to form clear/white hydroxylapatite on its skin as its storage system, should there be minimal amounts of calcium in its bone. In old Christmas times, the monkeys would be used as Christmas tree decorations and have the monkeys twirl around and create a dance show. They were discontinued as decorations when kids would get under the tree - to get presents and dance with the animals - and the monkeys, after getting tired of hanging around all hours of the early morning, would fall off and their crystals would scratch and leave deep gashes on the children.

The Night Walker - (Throughout)
There are fables of such a being - one whose antlers stretch to the heavens and branch into millenia. It walks like a monk, dreamily wandering through the corridors, up the stairs, gliding between garden fronds and the catacombs that twist and turn. Some say that the Capitol, bored of living a life of luxury, created it just because they could. Others say that it appeared, and was nearly untouchable. All you know is the soft tapping of hooves, and the footprints of moss and wildflowers that seem to grow in its wake. Nature, now flourishing in this hunk of metal, has its own avatar.

Hymnals - (Cargo Hold, Control Room, Aeroponic Garden, Lab, Residential Quarters)
A cross between a golem and a testament, one might look at a Hymnal and think that they are merely a statue, with their palms outstretched. But they would be wrong. It's the music that starts first, echoing and eerie as they glide towards your frame. These defense robots have warned you to leave - and if you do not comply, they will use their brute strength to make you - or else.

Cleaner Robot - (Throughout)
Beep beep! Built for the sole purpose of cleaning the ship, these cleaner robots are able to scale any solid surface to make sure the ship is not a total pigsty. They also have the ability to filter the air to remove any particulates they are programmed to identify as dangerous or a nuisance. Because they only have one purpose, they do not appreciate any obstacles to their job, namely humans and their pesky timing of being in the way all. the. time.

Construction Robot - (Throughout)
Boop boop! These robots were built to help with repairs and completion of small construction projects on the ship. Wearing little hard hats that somehow stay on the robot regardless of gravity, they can often be found zooming around the ship, looking to assist in any way. Objects of the unidentifiable sort can often be found in little compartments sticking out of these robots, always handy for a quick fix. Due to their packed timetables, they don't really have much time to stand by and chat.

The Joshua Tree - (Aeroponic Garden)
Legend has it that it was named for the son of a games engineer as a tribute to his child, Joshua. But its only a legend. While this idyllic insect-plant cross appears to the tributes as an oasis of sorts, it is a harbinger of pain and suffering for any unsuspecting victim not watching his or her surroundings. Do not be fooled by the bent arms, promising shade and comfort. The ends of each branch, which have the look of palm fronds, are as sharp as five hundred knives and the wood as tough as steel. Rumor has it that it was created years ago for use in a desert arena, the idea quickly abandoned when R&D testing resulted in some unsavory side effects for the engineers (loss of limbs and blood seemed to be the predominant injuries). This animated flora can sense approaching tributes, lashing out with its branches and shooting painful barbs (infused with poison more often than not). Scattered throughout the terrain and blending in with trees with less bloodthirsty ambitions, this mutt can survive in near-freezing and sweltering conditions. Proceed with caution.

Frost Nakom - (Cable Bridge)
Adapted for an arctic environment, these hand-sized butterflies are much subtler than their colorful jungle counterparts. With transparent, glass-like wings and shimmering silver veins — at a glance these creatures are easy to mistake for gently falling snow... or a fierce flurry of a swarm. Small animals stream out in front of the hand-sized butterflies, almost comical in their desperate escape from army ant jaws. Years ago Nakoms cleared out dangerous predators so Capitol armies could travel safely, but the swarms were gassed and the project discontinued when they lived up to their name—conquerors—a little too well, leaving the land devoid of all food and then turning on their creators and charges. They are hard to frighten and even harder to escape, which is what makes them such exciting opponents for tributes—along with the fact that they have little regard for whether they kill something before eating it.

Pitfall Pitcher Plant - (Aeroponic Garden)
This particular species of carnivorous plant has been bred for incredible size, with pitchers large enough to trap any human unlucky enough to trip inside or foolish enough to take a curious peek. The pitchers grow from the end of tendrils that extend from otherwise unexceptional leaves, making them all too easy to miss until it's too late. It's extremely difficult to escape once trapped inside as the inner walls are coated with wax and are both tougher and thicker than the plant's semi-translucent flesh causes them to appear, the filtered light causing confusion as to which way is out. Once caught, if its prey doesn't drown in the acidic nectar within each pitcher or manage to fight its way out, they will be slowly dissolved and digested alive. The plants themselves are often climbers, accessing the canopy of their habitats with their vine-like tendrils, although others are found on the ground in forest clearings or as epiphytes on particularly large trees.

- note: Once the tribute is trapped, they will take 5 damage per turn until they have fought their way out.)
Kodama - (Throughout)
If one did not know better, they would think the Kodoma a ghost. The creature moves in absolute silence, with a body that looks somewhat similar to a human's in that it stands upright and have two arms and two legs. The similarities stop there, though, for this particular mutt has a wide, round abdomen, no fingers or toes, and an oval head with two dark eyes and an equally dark mouth, so that the three features can barely be distinguished from each other. The rest of its body is opalescent, smooth, and free of even the slightest feature, and it's tiny, maybe a foot and a half tall at most. The Kodama are generally a puzzling creature. Unlike most mutts, they were created to cheer up people in the Capitol who were old, sick, or depressed, meant to be a kind of therapy. Their behavior didn't exactly go as planned, though - the creatures would often just stand there, making an occasional call that sounded high pitched and distant. They amused patients, however, and were therefor kept. In the Arena, they have been known to be actually helpful. They travel in packs and often do little more than watch tributes with their wide eyes and bring them food. Still, their presence has been known to be greatly calming to many, even the unlucky teenagers slated for almost certain death.

Contest Winners:
Brite - (Throughout)
(credit to ✨ zozo. )
Initially created as a new take on children's night lights, a Brite is a glowing, floating entity that has the ability to change the colour and brightness of the light it emits. One may say that a Brite resembles a star on a clear night. When afraid, it dims completely. When pleased, it glows softly. When threatened, it is almost blinding to the eye. These are purely for aesthetic purposes, used to guide (or lure) tributes to certain places in the arena. Brites were removed from Capitol retail development due to complaints of beta models burning noisy children's retinas, causing temporary blindness - a feature which could be useful to tributes and Gamemakers alike...

Prog - (Aeroponic Garden, Lab, Residential Quarters)
(credit to Baby Wessex d9b [earthling] and goat )
Vaguely a penguin, or a koala, the Capitol needed more cute in their lives. They made this adorable creature and totally forgot to moderate its voicebox. It loud.

Crixet - (Cornucopia, Cargo Hold, Lab)
(credit to umber vivuus 12b 🥀 [dars] )
The electrical hum within the floor lulls you to sleep, but it is a different sound that wakes you up. Harmonious, sweet, vaguely familiar. Like that of a cricket's chirp, only deeper and louder. Your eyes search the area around you, peeled for what could possibly be making the sound when you see it, rising from the ground. When comes the point it should stop ascending, it does not. It hovers there, bobbing up and down in the air as if tied to a string. It appears to be some morbid mix between a jellyfish and an insect, with viscous, damp flesh and several tentacle-like appendages dangling beneath its vaguely serpentine body. The sound you heard may have been coming from the wings on its back, but the sound they emit now is closer to the twirl of a helicopter blade. It folds in on itself and stretches in ways that don't seem possible, you aren't even sure where the thing's face is to be honest. But you are certain of one thing. It is coming toward you.

Xenion - (Cornucopia, Cargo Hold, Aeroponic Garden, Cable Bridge, Lab, Residential Quarters)
(credit to umber vivuus 12b 🥀 [dars] )
First impressions matter. And this creature, easily spanning seven feet in length, have a very, very intimidating first impression. Their tails are barbed, their teeth dripping with a mixture of venom and hungry saliva. And they're fast, climbing up the walls, clearing hundreds of yards in seconds. Xenions are the world's most perfect hunters, and their lives are dedicated to catching their prey. Once they do, they bite their victim in the neck so that the poison quickly spreads to the brain and finishes whatever job the mauling didn't. Few people escape a xenion alive, even fewer escape without being poisoned, and none escape without injury. From the moment you see its shadow, its tall, slender frame headed your way, you begin praying that you'll be the exception.

The Unspoken - (Throughout)
(credit to goat )
They have many names, but all are Unspoken. Developed by the Capitol to unnerve and unsettle, these elongated creatures were briefly used in interrogations to throw the person off their game. One look at their uncaring eyes and stretched bodies was often enough to cause the person to confess. However, their use quickly ceased once the Capitol realized they couldn't stop them from reproducing, and they were left with hoards of Unspoken and no idea what to do with them. It was decided to send them to the 82nd arena once they realized the creatures were a perfect fit for the unsettling atmosphere. The average Unspoken stretches out to around ten feet, but they've been known to reach lengths of thirty. Once prey is found, they'll wrap their body around them, but their mechanical spines aren't strong enough to crush— only trap.

- No attack; rolls to restrain a tribute. While restrained, the tribute can only attack the Unspoken.)
