Light shines from the end of the dark vent.
The area glitters to life, quite literately, as he climbs out of the vent and into this new room. The dark journey hadn't been long, but the cramped vent had put him in a panic once or twice from the small space. No room to fight if he had to, but now he's in an open room. Space to move around. A sigh of relief comes from his lips as he stares around the room, noticing the strangest of things. A nest of glass. Creatures locked away in cages. A message of no food. A generic lab from the looks of it, but there's only one thing off.
Everything is upside down. Cubicles of past inhabitants stay on the ceiling. The shards of glass resting in the edge of the room, making more sense now. The place they were on was upside down. Clearly, something had gone wrong in this place, but Ike wasn't one to figure these things out. All he knew was they were upside down in a metal death trap created by the capitol in order to have them all kill one another. Ike's slow to start as he stands calmly alone in the room with large glass cells holding experiments of some sort. His words seem to fumble out of his mouth cautiously.
"What have I found?"
Robots rest in the piles of glass over in the corner, where they seem to be sleeping. Or at least that's what it looks like to him. The pink watch on his wrist flickers with messages from others. Hanaa seeming to be upset about the bloodbath and the wounds she got. Ike's silent in this room as he replies calmly to some messages, but he doesn't really know what he's doing with his watch. Touching letters to try and spell words is a strange thing, but he does his best, until it bores him.
An app on his watch opens as he touches it methodically. A hologram comes to vision in front of him in the room, almost making him jump from his skin, fists ready to punch into the blue light, but instead, he can see the words of Cargo Hold, Lab, and Beam Chamber written out. Fingers touch gently to the lab where he is as he stares at the blue light before touching again to turn off the map.
"Huh, a Lab? Must be some useful stuff here!"
The words echo off of the metallic walls as he begins his search, avoiding both the robot nests and the experiment cages. Feet take him gently around the room where he stares up at cubicles. Eyes reach the plain clean ground that had to have been cleaned by something or left alone entirely. The room is darker than the last, but he can see his way around still, but it doesn't stop him from tripping over something and face planting onto the solid floor.
"Fuck!"
His face collides with the ground as he rises up gently to see the medical kit, which got the better of him already. He curses on his breath again at the irony of tripping over medical supplies to fix himself up with. Ike sits up, grabbing at the kit and staring into the empty white metal of it. His face staring back at him as he looks over to the glass nests where small flickering lights appear. His breath feels heavier and heavier as panic sets in.
The robots were clearly awake.
He did something stupid again.
Instead, he moves away from the nests and over to find some plants that were definitely medical from what he remembers his trainer had told him. Slowly, he picks them one by one, until he has a few bundles and shoves them in his pack. The quietness of the room fills him as he sits back against an empty wall staring at the robots on the other end who rest with friends. Friends who probably look out for one another, but Ike's alone. Alone in this dread place. All he can do is whisper to himself.
"I miss you, Klein."
Silence.
"I miss having someone who understands me. I miss home."
Home. Home would never see him again.
What would Klein be doing right now? Watch Ike on the screen, fumble for supplies, or would he see him go into the vent and assume he died there. Either way, Klein had to be watching him back home. A small smile at the thought fills his face. Ike couldn't lose hope. He couldn't lose himself to this empty and cold place. Home was watching him. He couldn't let any of them down. A moment of silence before he continues.
"I hope you guys are doing alright." A pause. "I'm doing the best that I can right now. Which isn't a whole lot, but it's still better than some."
The silent static rings.
Alone.
Hope in his chest.
Ike would continue to fight.
That's all he had left.
The ability to continue being the fighter everyone knew him as.
That would be enough.
