Starting Day 3, the first person to enter the lab will find this artifact
---
(This note is covered in dust and grease smudges. It’s written in a childish, unpracticed hand, started and stopped many times like the author took a long time to finish it.)GoddessPretty Scientist Lady,
I haven’t stopped thinking about you since we bumped into each other in the lab. You probably don’t remember me. I was fixing the ventilation shaft, the one in the corner by all the old processing equipment. It was dusty and dirty and I was sweating rivers… not the greatest first impression for anyone. Who decides to make these things so small, anyway? You’d think they were meant for rats! Not that we have rats on the ship. To be honest, I’m half-convinced the Keepers made them up and they never existed at all – why would an animal be so small?
I’m rambling. Silly Kruger, always going on about something or other! (That’s my name, by the way. I really want to hear you say it.) In truth… I’m even nervous just writing this. I’ve never seen someone as beautiful as you. Just the thought of you reading this note has my heart doing flips in my gut like I’m a kid again on Ratmas morning, getting his first plasma torch from his dad. The way you commanded the room, how silky your hair looked, how your coat flapped behind you when you walked… wow. You looked like agiantgeneralprincess without a crown. Or maybe even a queen! But way nicer.
And then Klumsy Kruger dropped his wrench. I was ass-deep in the vent and couldn’t get it, so you picked it up for me… and then it happened. Our eyes met. It was only for a second, but things in me woke up that I didn’t know were asleep. You didn’t say a word, but you didn’t need to. I know we’re connected. I haven’t believed in fate since my dad died, but you… you make me believe again. I watched you walk away and I can’t get you out of my mind since.
I’m going to leave this note close to the vent. I know you’ll find it. It’s destiny.Love,Dearly,
Kruger
