"This world is just illusion,
always trying to change you."
Seeing Sky's body fall lifelessly to the ground changed Industria Spark in an instant. At first, she froze up, not sure what to do as Cyril's weapon connected with her friend. Then, she saw Nell running, and she knew that, if she wanted to live, she had to do the same. Nell was faster than Dusty, though, and the young girl couldn't keep up. Tears were streaming down her face as she ran after her friend, but she couldn't catch her.
Dusty was alone, now, and she didn't know for how long that would be.
The airlocks to the other areas of the arena were open, unlike on their previous days in this place. Perhaps it was because of the very important looking switch that Sky had flipped when they were in the control room. Sky always seemed to want to do the fun thing, and when she flipped the switch, she'd done something helpful, too. Those were two things that Sky had been; fun and helpful. She was also friendly and funny, too. The girl from Five would be dearly missed.
As Dusty went on her way, she arrived in an area of the arena that was unfathomably large. It also appeared to be full of people's belongings. There were what seemed to be a variety of different people's living quarters. There seemed to be a never-ending amount of the little homes. Dusty would be surprised if she actually found Nell in there.
When she was walking, she saw light glint of off something- something metal. It caught her eye, and the young girl looked over to see that it was a fragment of something a little too familiar. It was a part of the sword that Nell had been using. Approaching it, she picked up a piece of it an turned it over in her hands. Why had Nell gotten rid of this? Had it been in a fit of rage over Sky's death, causing her to just need to break something? How had she even managed to break the sword apart like this?
Sitting on the ground for a few moments, Dusty continued to turn the piece of metal over and over in her hands. Eventually, she set it back down, and continued to move along, knowing that right now, she didn't want to just be in one place. As she walked about the area, she found some sort of glass, boomerang-shaped object that was sharp enough to be used as a knife, and decided to take it with her. She also discovered some more of the food that she'd found on the first day of the arena. Eating the one she'd found on day one, which to her, tasted like some sort of makeshift chicken meal, she then put the other, newly-found food into her bag.
She kept moving, trying not to think about Sky's body, laying there lifelessly on the floor as she and Nell ran away from the fight.
She just had to focus on something else. She had to stay strong. Did her family back home think that she was strong, even though she still had tears staining her face from the end of the fight that she'd just started? Would her family be ashamed of her for having started that fight and letting her friend die because of it?
Now her thoughts were just getting worse. Maybe she never should have volunteered for this. Maybe she just should have let Plunder Theft go in instead.lyrics: "Illusion" by VNV Nation
