Truth hurts; a lesson you learned long ago before you became a star. Whether it's the words you preach or the morals you believe you have, the bluntness of your words crash down as if they were asteroids. Asteroids sent from your lips to strike down the weak and shatter the armor of the strong. You know everyone knows your secrets; a tongue tied up in the present and the past. Never exactly ahead or behind, but always somewhere far away from where you are. The dreams in your head are more real to you than reality's own events happening before you.

Orion died. You didn't cry. Instead, you filled those books of yours with the memory of a warrior too good for this world. Your pen is mightier than most people's swords. Instead of fighting with your fists, you fight with your words, flowing like the streams you've never seen. Always on the edge of some sort of poetic justice you preach, never stuck in the sharp words of reality that you let fester like a wound until you can't take it no more. The night is not your friend, instead, its your fear. Darkness scarring you from when you're too young to remember and the thoughts of how absurd you truly are filtering into that large brain of yours.

If only you could get rid of those thoughts, life would be easier for you. Life moves around you with an exciting pace, almost as if you were nothing more than an observer. Writing down events that could fit into your fantasy world of actual good lives, evil people, and monsters just as believable as the mutts in the games. While your cousins learn about the world through calculations, statistics, and science; you build your own world out of thin air. The words on a page flowing out of your head as if you were magically in nature. Maybe, you are. You've heard others call you this. Magical, creative, alien-like.

Every story has an ending, you've pondered this over time, believing yours will be beautiful, almost like the stars at night. Rising and falling from grace, over and over again. You stare upwards every night making stories for each one of those glows, giving them names, of your own choosing. The roof of your home is your sanctuary, where the stars watch you and you watch them. The way your demeanor changes from the lighthearted whimsicalness about you to the serious demeanor of noticing a beauty that no one else can see.

Home is a battlefield; filled with bombs and missiles firing every second. Utter chaos lingers in those walls you call home, except you're quiet compared to them. Your parents have never been just your parents. You had your mom. You had your dad. It has never been your parents, just two entities who've never gotten along in the world. You don't pick sides, only love for both. You never understood why it was like this, but it's always been this way, sometimes you believe it's your own fault as night falls.

Days spent with cousins, parents, aunts, and uncles, you've learned enough to fake it until you're clear to be you. Science, math, statistics, and astronomy; you've learned to hide the creative talents you hold. Bias towards these subjects makes the world a little more harsher. A little more smaller. You've pushed yourself harder and harder than any of the others to keep up with them. Notes, books, and statistics littering his room as he fumbles through what others enjoy. You know this is a hassle for you, but you push and push because you want to fit in. You want to be apart of the Starcrests. You'll never be like them. You've already been put up on a cross to display as what to not be.

Night comes with thoughts of failure, you tighten your forehead and fight the drifting darkness echoing into your room. A cloudy night was blooming outside with the midnight blues and blackened swirls of clouds. You are already terrified of what this will mean for you. A light glitters in your room, knowing of the fear around you, what could be lurking behind those shadows. Mutts? Monsters? Demons? You'll never know, so you cower under the covers as if you were a child once more, begging the monsters to disappear and for your mind to finally settle for once. You are nothing more than a sitting duck if there were something to come, until the night drifts to a sleep.

You dream of the stars, pointed and bright, glistening above you as if they were ready to fall from the sky and guide you to a peaceful place. The world of your own creation fills your head of a brightness that blocks out the dark night sky of your fears. Sleep comes in the form of a world filled with light and stars, glowing and flickering, falling to the world below as a treasure of your own world.

You don't know this yet, but you'll learn that the stars are within your grasp, sometimes it just takes a little imagination to reach them.
