The waves call him home bringing a sense of freedom when none is to be found. Mav enjoys surfing during the summer, and fishing deep into the night. Sometimes just being alone allows his introverted mind a chance to relax despite feeling out of control. Many do not understand how someone can spend hours upon hours around people, but need as much down time as him. It's something he's learned to live with, and being in nature, listening to the waves crash against the beach bring him great joy.

Training is his way of life because district four needs better reputation, and maybe he can show them how strong his home truly is. But none of that matters when he's spending time with family making sure their needs are met. His mother means the world to him, and while his father is out of the picture, Mav does what he can for his younger siblings. Being a father figure to them isn't easy when he's just a few years older, yet it's a role he took on without a second thought.

His life comes with a cost because he's poor despite working several hours a day. This weight doesn't belong to an eighteen year old, and if it wasn't for the time spent in nature, Mav knows he would crack beneath it all. Every day he wears a smile hoping for the best because he believes every sunrise brings a new hope, and he crosses his fingers that one day it'll all work out.
