“Manwe, come on let’s go outside and explore.” Her voice is quiet trying not to wake anyone that’s sleeping, yet she radiates of innocence. Tucking her hands into her pockets while swinging her elbows wide. Being tucked away inside through a lot of the cooler days has really taken a toll, and she wants to go explore. Running around outside is one of the best things ever, and her parents shouldn’t care as long as they don’t go too far.

Not to mention an entire world exists outside of the victor’s village where she’s spent all of her life.

“Please. Manwe. Come on.” She’s practically begging, and while Vera isn’t one to really beg, everyone else isn’t around, and she wants to do something fun, and why not bring one of her younger brothers along with her?

Manwe Rhodes

I'm in the kitchen when I hear Vera asking me to go outside and explore. I'd join, but I have something else in mind. My parents never let me help much with cooking. My turn to make something. "I have a better idea! Mom and dad are always cooking. Why not us for a change? Lets cook before they can stop us." I want to have fun and if a mess is made, all the better. "What do you say? Imagine the looks on their faces."

I'm not able to withhold the laughter. The mayhem Vera and I cause our parents is always headache inducing. At least according to them. Its fun seeing them try to clean up my messes. Things are too tidy around here. Vera doesn't seem entirely convinced, so I try to convince her one last time. "Let's make such a mess that we'll be in our rooms until we're their age."

She’s all caught up in the idea of going outside to do something. The excitement courses through her veins, but when Manwe says he has another idea, she finds herself looking at him wondering what he could possibly do. Right now it’s about having fun, and he wants to cook and make a mess. Vera isn’t good at cooking, and she knows this, yet she wants to help. Sometimes making a mess of things is fun, and she's only young once.

"What should we fix them?" She's curious wanting to know more, but at the same time, the idea of trying to cook scares her because she's never touched anything. Maybe making something good for the rest of her family would make a difference, but she quickly realizes Manwe has another idea. He wants to make a mess of things. "How long do you think we'd be in our room for if we have to wait until we're their age? Forty four years?"
