Marcasite Obsidian
Marc doesn't remember ever knowing his brother. His brother, Andesite, was given to Flynn when he was first born, and it wasn't until he was reaped for the Seventy-Second Hunger Games that Marcasite actually discovered that he even had a brother. Andy was the first death in the Games, and from that point forward, Marc vowed to train himself even harder than he already was, so that he could go into the Games and show the whole of Panem that the Obsidians weren't to be taken down that easily.
Never having had the courage to volunteer for the Games, however, Marc didn't end up having the chance to do this. Instead, he now uses his knowledge from all of his career training to train other future tributes and aspiring careers. He works as hard as he can to make sure that he passes as much knowledge as he possibly can onto those who train under him. His father was the one who initially trained him to be a career, and now he has the chance to do that for others. Training others is Marc's passion now, but he also makes sure that he is keeping himself in good shape, too, and not just his trainees. Although he'll never have to fight in the Games at this point, he still keeps himself as fit as possible.
Around the time of the Eightieth Hunger Games, Marc moved out of his family's home. He lives on his own now, having been able to afford a house of his own from the money he's earned as a career trainer. He's quite proud of his accomplishments at this point in his life, even if he does feel that he failed by never volunteering for the Games. There are some days that Marc still wishes he had volunteered and shown what he was capable of. There are other days, however, that he's actually glad he didn't volunteer and can now live a peaceful life at home in District Two.
Marc hopes to find love. It's something he's dreamed of for a long time, whether or not he's openly admitted it. He has a strong build, which he finds often attracts people to him. His dark hair is almost always styled nicely, which seems to draw in attention as well. Despite the fact that he doesn't like the scars he has on his body from his years of training, or his stretch marks that he's gained from weight fluctuation, no one else usually points it out to him. He's confident enough in himself to put himself out there when he has an interest in someone. It seems, however, that he usually doesn't get anywhere with his flirting.
As the years move forward, Marcasite Obsidian thinks often of his brother- the boy he never really knew. He thinks about what life would have been like if they'd grown up together instead of apart. Marc was raised as an only child, despite not being one, due to his brother being raised by Flynn instead. Marc now wishes to have children of his own to raise together as a happy family. He wants children, but he doesn't want them to go through what he did. His main fear, however, is that, if he has children, they may be reaped for the Games and be unprepared like Andy was.
Growing up, Marc had a lot of friends. When Andy died, however, Marc lost a lot of friends due to how aggressive he became towards people in response to it all. He always wanted to fight and would sometimes lash out at his friends. His friends started to leave him over the years because of this. Now, he has few people left that he would consider to be friends, but those that he does have are very dear to him.
With more time passing, Marc has become significantly less aggressive. He focuses any of his anger that he can into his workouts and training new careers. Turning it into a positive form of adrenaline has proved helpful. It's much easier for him to get along with people when he has this outlet to channel his energy into. That's part of why Marc continues to do what he does, training and working out in his spare time.
Marcasite Olivine Obsidian is the type of person that will tell you what he thinks, when he thinks it. Perhaps that's one of his flaws sometimes, as it has gotten him into trouble. It's also helped him here and there, however. He's a good problem-solver, and overall, a good person. The years have been kinder to Marc more recently, and he hopes that they will continue to be.
