Part I: Meanwhile, at the Cornucopia

If there are any tributes at the Cornucopia at the beginning of the second day, they will find that the rings of ignorance have not blessed them with the same powers as their companions who had the sense to leave. With the explosions having sent them running from the source, the bold or daring tribute may nevertheless peak from afar to see just what has become of the gleaming centerpiece to the Games in the meantime.

What they see is…..well, not a lot. Smoke rises from three locations surrounding the golden Corn, and there is no mistaking that something has emerged in their wake. Different shapes blur in and out of the smoke and fog, never staying still enough to grant the tributes a clear view. Ungodly shrieks are heard, as are sounds not unlike the cracking of a whip or the blazing crackle of fire. There is no telling what, exactly, is going on - only that utter chaos has reigned.
