Haylee Angevin
No, it wasn't Haylee Angevin whose name was called, but it was still an Angevin, and Haylee felt fear as if it were her. Instead, it was a cousin of hers by the name of Amberly. They'd always had a good relationship, which perhaps was the reason as to why the fear was so ever-present in Haylee's mind. She didn't want that chance of losing her.
Yes, Amberly was strong, and Haylee had confidence in her. There was certainly a chance that Amberly would come back the victor. There was also a chance that it could end up being someone else, though. Amberly wasn't guaranteed the win, no matter how strong she was. Haylee couldn't let the negativity win, though. As her footsteps carried her closer to the Justice Building where Amberly waited, she stopped herself from crying and wiped away the few tears that had formed. She made sure that she no longer looked as if she'd been tearful moments before, and entered the room where her cousin was.
"There's that powerful young woman I was looking for," Haylee greeted her cousin.
Strength wasn't hard to find in the Angevin family, but Haylee still believed that Amberly was one of the Angevins who had the most of it. Whether it be the way she spoke or the way she acted, Haylee knew Amberly was strong. The two girls often spent nights together so that Amberly could get away from her family at home, and they'd come to know each other quite well over the years. The two girls had even worked together on a couple occasions to cause some trouble for Amberly's siblings, just as a bit of gentle revenge.
They were close, and it made Haylee want to cry that her cousin would have to go through the Games, survivor or not. She held back the tears, though. Angevins were strong. They had to be.
