She's not a bitch, she's just smart. Smart enough not to show her weaknesses - even smarter to not show her strengths. Her desires. It's easy when you're sixteen to pretend you're not into Nico Thorne because he's from Twelve ("ew, right?") - it's easier to pretend you don't care about people when your friends don't either. Fitting in is simple. You just figure out what people want to hear and you say it. You do it. Go to Career Training, your parents didn't name her Reign for nothing. Don't get involved in other people's drama unless you need to. Be a mystery, be that girl's best friend because she wants you to be. Sparkle a little when you need to. Flash a smile every once in a while. She's a convenient extrovert - being around  so many people doesn't wear her down. But every so often she's desperate for her alone time and those quiet, rare moments she gets to be with nothing but her thoughts. She has some grasp of who she wants to be. A better person. A kinder person. And maybe she'll get the chance to be that when she's older, when she ages out of the reaping, when kids at school and training don't give a shit anymore. But for now she'll be what everyone else wants her to be - two more years of fitting in. Two more years until she can stand out.
