Home feels so far away. I am lost in the wilderness and I see no posters up with my face on them. Nobody first notices when I slip away, a soul easily lost in the shadows as I free myself from the bitter chaos that is contained in my home. Only the most powerful of tornados can blow it away but for now, the place that I am forced to call home still stands.

Whenever I escape the wicked words, it is hard not to flee the guilt of leaving behind a victim. I have the key to free us both from the disaster that is both of our parents. Except I carry it in my own pocket, keeping a watch on my own back as I let my brother brace the words of angered parents.

I will run away one day, far far away from here. There is treasure waiting for me over the rainbow, but it is not a pot of gold. Something far more personal, something far more powerful that will lead my escape to a better land. For the now the shackles are still tight, his grip on me has never let go. My father always finds his way to drag me back to his home, I am always the fault of their arguments. The sweet love they carried for me has so quickly faded, I am better to be lost than remain in their company, but they always find a way to find me.

I can run through the night in my ruby red slippers, but they always lead me back home.

I need to courage to fight back. The brains to take the better route. And the heart to take my poor brother with me. I will find us a home.
