Imagine the most stereotypical boy from district ten.

That's who my parents wanted to turn me into. They wanted to waste my intellect on cattle farming. It wasn't even the slightly interesting meat farming. It was dairy farming. They wanted me to sit around the ranch all day, making sure cows eat grass. I can't imagine anything more boring. Wait hold that thought, yeah I can't find anything more boring. They forced my hands into becoming rough from labor and my muscles to grow to deal with the work that came from dealing with annoying-ass cows.

And that was going to be my life. We aren't even one of those monstrous cattle farms where they have enough money to get their workers horses. No, instead it's just me, my bland parents, and my siblings. I didn't realize anything could move slower than snails until I experienced life.

It wasn't all bad, I used to have time to play in the woods on the outskirts of Ten. Life had been simple, and I liked it, but I wanted needed change. I had always thought that I'd grow up and life would become more and more complex. Instead, the world slowed more, school became about the dreary agricultural techniques needed to take care of different animals. I'd go from cows at school to cows at home.

Why are there so many damn cows.

I taught myself more than what I would have out of this life. When my parents thought I'd be sneaking out at night, I would be, but not for the reasons they thought I would. I refused to live this boring life, I refused to be dragged down by the endless mooing. Sneaking into the barn, hidden among various tools that had been untouched for a while, were the textbooks I had traded on the black market for copious quantities of milk stolen from my family's farm.

They whispered the secrets of the universe to me. They were from a time dating before knowledge was restricted into the hands of the Capitol. They taught me physics and chemistry, the magic of the universe.

Unfortunately, they never really helped me grasp onto the reasoning of how people could be as bland as my family or district ten as a whole. They never helped me learn how people could go about their lives just with the endless animal noises, the endless smells, the endless nothingness.

I never understood how my parents could deal with their lives. The moos combine into a cacophony of headache-inducing noises. Wake up, eat a modest breakfast of eggs and milk with bickering siblings chattering their way to school, go deal with the cows. There's no way I could have been served a more boring hand in life.

My determination is set in me, I'll get out of this district. Or at least this life. I will find a way to make it to at least a different district, or maybe I'll escape all together. There has to be something outside of Panem, right? My textbooks hint to a life different from what has been placed in front of me. So my job is to find that new life, right?

Basically I want to get the hell away from all this mooing.
