I am not like Pearson, who's name glitters with a beauty in the district, blooming like a flower through the cracks of a broken society. Ripred was the god my family believed in, sometimes Ripred was my god, but only when it mattered. I'm not exactly unholy or filled with a hatred like some people seemed to be, but I was hesitant to taking up the title of devout holy son, but I think my family understood. Pearson was always at the front of my thoughts, not because he was some holy devout follower of Ripred and a leader of the Crane Compass Church, because he was always at the forefront of the public eyes.

People talk, but I shut them up.

I'm not exactly violent, but roughing up someone who speaks a little too openly wasn't breaking the rules. Hell, most of the time, I called it repenting their sins. A smile always plastered onto my face, but they could read behind my eyes the truth. Don't try to disrespect the Cranes or else I will come for you. Pearson already had enough strife to deal with in the world and I don't care what people said about me. I wasn't perfect, none of us are and Pearson gives just that little more hope to the world. Blossoming like a flower in the concrete ridden sidewalks of Eight. I still pray every night to Ripred to protect him, knowing he's too soft for this world. Too soft and too innocent compared to most of Eight.

I am the nourishment of the Crane Compass Church.

The knight who protects the order that the church created among the people of Eight.

The people needed hope and I would protect that spark, even if I had to fall on the sword one day.

I would do it for him.
