"Clio? Cliiiio!"

The voice penetrates her already busy mind. She huffs, her fingers massaging her temple as she turns to face her younger brother. He was only nine, and yet he had the lungs of a 12 year old, and he would not let forget it.

"CLIO!"

Anger flashes through her as she whips to face him, her eyes burning with rage and frustration. "What?" she growls, and instantly she regrets it. His face falls, and tears begin to well in eyes that look identical to her mothers. Sighing, she forces herself to smile at her little brother, reaching out to tuck him in close to her body. "I'm sorry, I should not have snapped." She says, as she places a kiss on the crown of his head. "What is it? You know I have to take care of lil sis at the moment. She is ill. You understand that, right?" She pulls away from him, kneeling down so that she could look him in those eyes that made her heart ache.

"But you haven't played with me," he sniffles, as he wipes his nose on the back of his hands. "You are always helping her."

A sigh falls from her lips, but she reminds herself that he is just a boy, that he doesn't under stand. "Look, Jasper, how about you go take this to you sister," she had him a damp wash cloth, Place it on her forehead. "I need to leave for a little while-" she cuts off his protest with a stern look-" I need to leave, but I will be back before you know it. And I promise you, then I will play with you."

Reluctantly the boy takes the cloth nodding as Clio heads for the door, towards the market which she prayed to Ripred would help save her sick sister.

It was a pleasant morning: the sun shone down, reflecting off of any surface that would let it. The breeze was just slight: enough to toss my hair about the slightest bit, but not enough for it to get in the way of my face as I walked down the busy street near the market. I felt good this morning. I had nothing negative on my mind: I was safe as this reaping had passed, and so was my brother. Today's time would be spent doing positive, productive things, as that's what I preferred.

I browsed the market, not quite sure what I was looking for, other than that it would be something to treat myself, for once. I was always getting and doing things for other people, so I decided that I could perhaps allow myself to do something for me.

As I was browsing, I encountered another girl who looked to be about my age and seemed to be looking for something. It seemed as if she were uncertain of what she needed, so my instinct encouraged me to lend my assistance.

"Excuse me, do you need help with something?" I asked the girl kindly.

Clio was stressed.

She was worried, and ashamed.

She felt like she should have been doing more, that somehow she should be able to fit in time to focus on both of her siblings. But she was stretched thin, so thin that she wasn't sure that she would be able to keep herself together much longer. Taking a deep breath, she forces herself to calm down. She knew that she was doing everything that she could, and she only hoped that little Jasper would understand. Maybe in a few years, when he had a better understanding of life.

Clio was looking through a range of different leaves and pulps, getting more and more frustrated, when a girl addresses her, "excuse me, do you need help with something?" The girl seemed genuinely interested in helping her, the kindness in her voice, instantly helping to put Clio at ease. "Yes, I have no idea what I'm looking for. All theses leaves and pastes are all look the same to me. I have no idea what any of them do, or what one I need and- and- and I'm running out of time." Clio huffs, turning a pleading eye to the girl before her.

"My lil sis is sick. She had a fever, is sweating, and her breathing is off. I can't afford a doctor, so I'm trying to treat her myself... bu-but I don't know what to do... I don't know how to help her..." Clio's voice trails off, her eyes once again turning back to the items before her.

There was a clear sense of distress in the voice of the girl I had chosen to speak to. I could tell she was nervous- worried- scared, even. Scared of what? She was scared of what may happen to her sister, from what I could tell. She said that her little sister had a fever, was sweating and that her breathing was off, but she couldn't afford a doctor. I nodded in understanding.

This girl may not have understood what all the different plants and pastes in front of the two of us were, but I had some knowledge of it, at least.

"Alright," I told her, keeping my voice calm so as to try to calm her down more as well. I quickly scanned over the jars of different pastes. They were labeled with their contents, but not what they were for. Luckily, I had some plant knowledge, as well as a bit of medical knowledge that could help the two of us out in this particular situation. I picked up ones of the jars of pastes, quickly read the label to confirm as to what it was inside of the jar, and handed it to the girl.

"This should help with the fever," I told her. "You said her breathing is off, too? Let me find something to help with that," I said, quickly moving over in the direction of the plants, rather than the pastes. I knew exactly what I was looking for, and that felt good. I loved to help people wherever I could.
