Here we are
(Here we are)
We knew this day would come
Those who slay together, stay together in the end
Have I ever said anything about Fiona? She’s one of the bigger kids, almost old enough to be out of the reaping.
So you know, ancient. Might as well be one of the adults. I think she might be as cool as Elizabeth, but I’ve also seen Victor come out of her room looking mad before. I pay attention to everything cause that’s the best way to learn! And when Victor is mad, it usually means someone sucks.
Anyway, that’s why I’m going through her stuff. I’m investigating to see why she makes Victor mad. You know, so I know not to do that. The investigation isn’t going well though. And her pants don’t have holes in them, which is what I thought might happen, cause someone said she spends too much time on her knees.
Concealer. Boring. I toss it out of the drawer and look for something else. Lipstick. Boring. The color isn’t cool anyway. The perfume smells good though. Too bad the nozzle came off and spilled it everywhere where I tugged on it. Oh well. The whole room smells nice now. I tried on a few of her clothes too but they didn’t fit me so I left them on the floor of the closet.
I’m so booored. Usually I’d be trying to kick Meredith in the shins right now, but she’s on tv being dumb and she can’t see me anyway. I could glare at Finn but that gets old after awhile and Victor always gives me an extra lesson when he sees I’m mad and it makes me tired so maybe I won’t glare at Finn today where he can see.
At least Fiora’s curling iron is fun to mess with. It didn’t really curl the corner of the sheet I kept running through it. It started to turn brown actually and it smells burnt, even though there’s no fire., but there’s white smoke starting to come up from it.
Cool.
I hear the door open behind me and—
Oh-oh.
I hear the door open behind me.
“Hi, Fiona.” I say quickly, throwing her curling iron onto her bed. “Uh—“
I clap my hands together nervously, and my knees are swaying back and forth a little. I meant to put everything back when I was done, really I did, but I forgot and she’s back now. There’s clothes and makeup everywhere but at least everything smells good.
Poop, how am I going to get away before she gets mad?
“Your room is very nice.”
It’s true.
Well, it was before I took her things out.
Oh-oh I didn’t think of that. Maybe I should put my game face on.
I narrow my eyes and twist up my mouth.
“You’re not hiding anything, are you?” I put my hand on my hips and try to look like one of the adults.
That should get me out of trouble, even if I did mess up her room. Cause if Victor gets mad at her, she’s probably weak and I shouldn’t think she’s one of the cool kids anymore. If she’s weak then I should treat her like Meredith before she makes me weak too.
