Hidden in the shadows. That is what he always claimed to be. Maybe it was because he was afraid of the world around him. After all, it had been hard for him to acclimate to what was going on after the explosions that took place in the district.

It would never be the same would it? Before he had been more interested in doing anything that didn’t have to do with medical. He took deep breaths as he tried to explain to his parents that this just was not working for him. Living here, being expected only use his hands for good. He didn’t believe that was true, even when his mother spent a lot of time playing around with the sewing machine that had somehow wound up in her possession all those years ago.

She said it was a family heirloom, but he saw it as a way out. He learned from his mother how to make clothes that the district had never seen before, and for once, he felt like he found himself.

And then the district had to implode in itself. 

He had to drop his dreams to help people he didn’t even know, and he did it with a small smile. Of course, he couldn’t do anything too in depth, like cure their problems right away, but he could at least be someone to talk too. He roamed around makeshift hospitals, bearing food and a good conversation. His hands weren’t meant to heal, but maybe his words could.

After all, he was just trying to help.
