It's fucking glorious at the top.

Others might replace fucking glorious with lonely, but I don't feel that way at all. I have all the approval I need, and that comes from Alistair Morrisen himself. My father, one of the most brilliant masterminds in this district, and someone I'm proud to be protege to. Such a shame that some of my relatives don't see the same value in family, it seems.

Ever since Annie went and won the games (although, is it really a victory if everyone comes back like a participation trophy?) it's like that's all anyone can think about around here. All Annisa does is stew in jealousy when she could be doing something productive with herself. Little does she know that real power comes with what you do outside of the arena. It's why Alistair had the sense to pull me out of training; guess she'll have to settle for being the brawn of this family while I'm the brains and beauty. On the other hand, Axel's such a wimp that the wind could probably beat him for the crown. I'd hate to see it, in all honesty, but that's what's bound to happen.

I suppose I shouldn't be so harsh on my siblings, but I'd never say it to their faces. I at least respect them enough to keep my observations to myself, although I may share them with Alistair every now and then. (I'm also more witty when I have more time to think, but that's just a side effect of being so brilliant.) I'm not lonely by any means - I choose to be this way. It's especially hard to fade into the background when there's so many people to consort with and learn from. I accept what's given to me in stride and do my absolute best, because that's what an eldest is meant to do. Yes, I slip up, but no one needs to know that.

All that anyone needs to know is that it'll take a lot to cut me down.
