Callie was on her way to see Jessa Hope in the hope to flip her vote from Pierre to herself. Pierre was the current Mayor and had the backing of most of the Hopes, Callie had almost impossible task ahead of her by trying to gain the support of a few. But she wasn't giving up, she had already told Oz that she would be running, pissed off her husband, and probably most of his side of the family.

Forcing her lips to part into a wide smile she grasps the pamphlets in her hands tighter. she could do this. She could win her over, maybe she would have to play a little dirty to do so, but she could outshine Pierre. She doubted Pierre even remember who she was until the moment she put her name down, remembering that she was too part of the family.

Maybe she shouldn't feel the satisfaction that raced through her at the thought of his face when he saw that a Hope had decided to run against him. But Callie wasn't really a Hope, only in name, but not by blood.

She knocks on the door, "Jessa Hope? Its Calypso Hope, Leo's wife. Today I would like to try and sway your vote, do you fancy the thought of a strong female icon head of this district?"

I've never predicted the greatest of outlooks for the world, much less District Eight itself. I suppose that's why Pierre Hope was my choice in candidate. He had been the mayor for a while now, and at least consistency wasn't likely to make things worse. I didn't know if I'd actually say he was making things better, but... yeah, things weren't getting worse yet, no matter how much I consistently expected them to.

There was a knock at my door. I go to answer, and the woman who is standing there starts to speak. She explains who she is (luckily for me, as I don't always remember who everyone in my enormous family is) and says that she'd like to try to sway my vote. Initially, I'd forgotten another member of my family was running for mayor, and although I'm embarrassed to admit it, I probably wouldn't have recognized her immediately, either. Give me a moment or two and perhaps, yes, but I swear, my memory is a bit more shot than it should be these days, and I'm only eighteen.

Calypso said something about being a strong female icon for the District, but I wanted to hear more, so I told her just that.

"Okay," I began. "I'll let you tell me what you've got to say, and we'll see where we can go from there. How's that sound?"
