Her head was spinning.

There was so much to do, so much to say and she hadn’t even talked to Vasco yet. Wouldn’t be able to until after his speech was over. She hung by the back of the gathering crowd, smiling good-naturedly when people acknowledged her, grateful that home in eleven it was only the children that stared too long. That everyone knew who she was and didn’t feel the need to bombard her with inane questions about her love life or the games.

Some days in the Capitol were harder than others, and she was starting to regret all the trouble she’d caused in her youth. It had kept her in the media longer than most victors. Even being locked up for a couple years hadn’t removed her from the public consciousness. Not entirely. So deep in thought she was that she failed to see that her pacing had taken her around a corner and smackdab into someone.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking,” she said hastily. The person she’d knocked into was just a kid. "You alright?"
