Election season always brought around a certain tension in the air, building up to a resistance of ideals. Phone calls meant to bring about unity among district candidates and barter new deals over time and promises of staying connected to one another. Fingers over his desk, the plague of Mayor Jaime Laws, faced down with the memory of him finding a gray hair on the top of his head when Twelve looked to him during the lockdown. Answers that he never had, but promising protection from the hunger in the only way he knew how back then. The holes in his own wallet growing slightly, but Twelve survived through it. Built up a new appreciation for unity and legacy they all carry.
It's when he's hovering over the phone, knowing the number he wants to call, preparing to input it, but Twelve's been a mess for years. The victors from Twelve had created such an immense bond with Eleven that he knew he would have to call Vasco Izar eventually, the man who made him feel he had a friend who understood what he was going through. Building up the courage and no longer wanting to sit on the anxiousness of being unable to see who he's talking to on the other line, he calls, letting the phone ring and ring until it picks up and he can already feel himself going into Mayor Candidate Jaime Laws' professional voice.
"Hello, Vasco, er I mean Mr. Izar. Thought it was about time I reached out about Twelve and Eleven."
It's stilted, but he doesn't stop until he runs a hand through his hair, lets himself sit up as focus on the phone and the sound of whatever was coming through the other end.
"Hope I am not interrupting you from anything important."
