Archibald Sartorius was nervous, hands nervously shuffling around his notes. Over the short course of the election period her had found himself getting more and more comfortable in the public speaking scene. But this was different. Here he would he was forced into the limelight, positioned in front of a crowd, all eyes on him. Swallowing he steps up to the microphone, fingers pulling at the collar of his shirt.
"Good afternoon district Ten, and first and foremost, thank you for sparing a few hours out of your busy schedules to come down and support the future leaders of your home. Many of you might not know much about who I am. Never before have I stood up here on this stage, nor a member of my family. But I couldn't be happier to be standing here now, in front of you all." He smiles as he gazes around the room, starting to feel more at ease.
"For those of you who don't know I am a single, working, father of three. Some of you might know me as your friendly neighbourhood veterinarian. My wife, Arwen, sadly past away during the birth of our youngest. She was an amazing woman and I know that if she was here today she would be very proud..." He trails off, his mind temporally lost in the memories of his late wife.
"Anyway," her clears his throat, "enough about me and more about what I can do for you." He chuckles slightly, "the youth of district Ten is the future of our home. And I truly believe that everyone of our children deserve the opportunity to an education. If I earn your vote I would like to open a school for those children in need. Being a father of children with disabilities I see the loss opportunities available for them and..." He looks away for a moment, "and I truly beehive that there could be more, as a district, that we can do to help them, to give them a chance at finding a job that really excites, or inspires them, because no one should miss out. Not if there is something that we can do about it.
Education should be available to all of us. It's what creates jobs, creates a community."
Smiling he stands with more confidence, "again, thank you for your time. I am Archibald Sartorius and if you have any questions please feel free to approach me! I am more than willing to answer as best as I can."
