Poison, Edible, or Neither? Poisonous powder coats their fur. If snowing, it can mix into the snow and spread their poisonous residue throughout the area or onto items. They aren’t edible and have a sour/bitter taste. 

Brief Summary: "Did you see that over there? That spot in the snow? I swear I saw something moving!" Famous last words of those who meet a Caligorsa in the wild. These beasts are one with the arctic nature that surrounds them, with a thick coat of frost-colored fur to keep them warm and offer the perfect camouflage. When creating this fearsome foe, scientists decided to leave the base DNA- that of a polar bear- mostly untouched. However, there are some key differences, primarily: Caligorsa are slightly smaller, vastly quicker, have shorter hibernation periods, and their hearing and sight are much, much better. They are are also proven to be more adept hunters, using strategy and their surroundings rather than relying on brute strength alone.

Brief Summary: Hulking masses of fur and ice, it is impossible to miss these huge creatures, and also nearly impossible to escape them. If not for the pair of icicles that jut out of its front end to resembled three feet long tusks, a person would have a difficult time distinguishing which end of the creature was which. They stand at roughly fifteen feet tall, large mounds of hair that is almost always covered in permafrost, and they are slow-moving until provoked, which causes them to charge their foes. They've been known to uproot entire trees, so one would do well to avoid standing in their path once they go into a rampage.

Brief Summary: There are many stories about this Capitol creation. Some say it lives for hundreds of years. Some say each of its tails hold a different mystical power. Some say they contain the spirits of tricksters, while other claim they are known to sense danger and come to the rescue of people lost in the snowy mountains of upper Panem. There are not many facts surrounded the creatures, however, outside of this: when provoked, they are worthy adversaries indeed. Each of their tails is tipped in sleek, sharp ice, and can be detached like that of a porcupine's quill, and shot at enemies. Not mention its teeth, which are as sharp as any knife, and its ability to blend in with its environment effortlessly. Korsune are beautiful and they are unknown. Perhaps, with the help of the Games, people will have stories they know are true to use in the future.

Brief Summary: There, amidst the storm, seems to be a particular flurry of snow and fog. It doesn't obey the wind currents in the same way, gliding effortlessly on its own route. It is only later that you think you hear the sound of a bird dwelling within it. The Nimbeaus is a glorious, beautiful manifestation of wintery beauty. A peacock painted white, its DNA infused with mist- some would say its wings are made of clouds themselves. Its song is one of harmony and grace, like wind whistling across the arctic sea, but make no mistake: beautiful things can hurt, too. Get too close and you'll have more than its sharp talons and beak to worry about, but the flurries of cold air that surround it at all times have been reported to cause minor cases of frostbite!
