I didn't draw even a single drop of blood in the bloodbath at the cornucopia. If anything, I was a coward, running away from it all as soon as the gong sounded. Although, was being safe and knowing I'd probably die if I stayed at the cornucopia something that really made me a coward? I wasn't ready to die. I needed to satisfy my need to kill, first. If I were to just get killed right away, what good would that do me?

As I made my way away from the cornucopia, I discovered a few items. The first thing I came across was a sled. I decided it may be helpful, so I dragged it behind me as I went. Sure, it might slow me down a little bit, but it shouldn't be too bad. Next, I found something that would prove useful- a glass pickaxe, covered a little bit in the snow that was on the ground. I unburied it, picked it up, and decided to take it with me.

It wasn't quite the traditional type of axe I was used to, but I was sure I'd make sufficient use of it.

As I continued to venture forward, I made my way to, what I thought from a distance was a normal lake. When I got closer, however, I discovered that the lake was frozen over, and almost appeared to be made of glass. It was dead silent in this part of the arena, which, admittedly, was a little suspicious, but I didn't let myself question it too much. I sat down at the edge of the icy lake on my sled, so as to not have to sit directly in the snow, and looked at what I had in front of me. It was just a pickaxe. I didn't have any food, any water- not even a bag.

As I sat there, thinking about what my next move should be, a few items fell down in front of me via a couple of silver parachutes. Sponsorship.

Inside the first of the packages was a bag. Perfect. I had an easier way of carrying whatever else the people of the Capitol had decided to sponsor me with. The next package contained a piece of flint. Perfect for starting fires. The last package was the most interesting to me, though. Inside was a long, wooden box. When I opened it, it took me a moment to realize what it was that was contained within the box.

Inside of the box were glass microscope slides. Also included in the package that had the wooden box was a package of pipette- little droppers, so to speak. It made me wonder what they wanted me to use these for, but I was sure I'd find something I could do with them.

I eventually decided to get up and wander around the area a little bit, finding some more items as I did so. Locating some bandages, I put those in my bag. I even found an icicle club that may come in handy should something happen to my pickaxe.

I made sure to stay on guard as I walked around, just in case anyone decided to make a move. If I didn't encounter anyone today, I'd be ready to kill tomorrow.
