Anthem - Day Two

Even in the darkness of night, small specks of white swirl down from the sky. Once shadow has overtaken light, it seems as though the hours ebb on for eons. Maybe it's the sound of silence. Maybe it's the sharp bite of frost that beckons at the back of the night's breath. You aren't sure exactly how long it has been when everything changes.

It starts as a small spot of light, something spectral in the distance. For those close enough, they would see that it is in fact the tail of the Cornucopia that has begun to shine. In a matter of moments, the entire ice sculpture is encapsulated in flowing bands of brilliant colors. Then, just as the song of Panem's Anthem begins to enter the arena, the bands stretch across the sky in an unbelievable aurora. However, the light changes more than just the sky.

The Ghost Trees begin to glow sharing in the same spectacle as above, the Glass Lake becomes a mirrored beacon of the brilliance, and the Bonfire's flames fill with rivets of rainbows. Even the snow begins to shine with a sheen of bioluminescence. It is all so enrapturing to watch that you almost forget to look towards the faces of the fallen.

Even once the music erodes back into silence, the stunning spectrum's shine dances until the light of morning erases it like a lost dream.
