His blade had found his target, the flightless bird falling to the ground. Dead. Smirking he pulls the tip of his spear out of his flesh, watching as drops of blood soak into snow. His blood felt like it had been laced with fire, his mouth dry as poison surged through him. Wiping sweat from his brow he thrusts his spear into the mutt's dead body before picking up the spear he had thrown earlier.
"Lets head towards the light," he picks up the rope to his sled, limping slightly from the deep gash on his thigh. Blood seeped into his clothes, saturating the material. Just like the laceration on his arm from the day before he knew that stitches would be required. Grunting he grips the ropes tighter, marching across the treeless plain towards the flickering light.
The closer they got he begun to realise that it was a large flame, a bonfire to be exact. Dropping the ropes to his sled he uses his spear as a walking stick, limping towards the opening flame one thought in his mind: warmth. But disappointment begins to surge through him, each step leading closer seemed to be as cold as the last.
"W-what?" He stands only a foot away and yet he felt nothing but the cold wind against his cheeks. His hand gravities towards it, eager to feel the heat of a flame, but he feels nothing. Fucking typical. "You mother fuckers," he growls, "you sick fucks!" He wandered if that got some sort of dark satisfaction as watching the hope fall from his face. He moves closer, his hand entering the heartless flames until it disappears.
Groaning he sits on one of the six wooden stumps, exhausting eating away at him as quickly as the poison in his veins. A sharp beeping sound and a parachute lands next to him, ducking down he quickly rips it open, a small bottle resting safety inside. Sighing with relief he rips open the lids, pressing the lip of the small glass bottle to his lips before tipping the contents down his throat. The relief was almost instant. Sighing in relief he allows his eyes to shut for a brief moment, the fire in his veins simmering.
