Part of her wants to giggle, and it's hard to fight it back because this place isn't meant for laughter and fun. It bubbles deep inside begging for an escape, and it takes every ounce of strength to hold it in. This place is meant for terror and nightmares, and so far it's been that way. The cold bothers her more than anything, and it's chilling her to the bone. But when she sees the first snowball whizzing through the air, nothing can stop her anymore.

A small burst of laughter fills the air around her as she fights to keep calm. It reminds her of home when her and her siblings would make the largest snowballs of all and throw them at each other in a war. They had a few hours to build a base before the war would start. This place, it's not too different really. It's just knowing that this fun will turn into blood, and the cornucopia will bleed along with them soon.

It's hard to even think of, and sending them together in this nonsense is horrible, and they're wanting them to think they're safe. That they're okay. That the impending doom is not real?

Sorrel takes a breath, turning around long enough to find Carbon in the mix of the tributes, and with that she pushes herself forward even more. She wants to get to the bottom of the hill and run and hide before the day turns red. Nothing makes them safe here, and in this moment, all she wants is to keep the peace. It's hard to ask for, but it's better than nothing. It wouldn't take much.

Shaking her head, she pushes the thoughts away. Right now the important thing is winning the race because the only advantage it'll give her is a chance to grab a prize before escaping into the unknown. It's better than nothing, and that's why she moves forward doing the best she can.
