"Carbon!" Her voice echoes through the air as cannons shatter the sky. Death has called, and two have fallen. Sorrel looks around hoping he's okay, and seeing him standing brings a bittersweet joy. "Carbon!" She shouts again as she runs to his side. He needs help, but first they have to get out of here. Every fighter knows when to flee, and now is that time. All they have to do is escape and find a place to hide and mend his wounds. It's hard caring for someone in here, yet the idea of losing him crushes her heart. It's been broken before, but all she wants is for him to be okay. Both can't live, and she knows that which is why it's all so bittersweet.
"Carbon, we have to go!" She tugs at his arms wanting to pull him away. It doesn't matter to her than he just struck someone down. It doesn't matter that death is hovering above them because they're alive. She doesn't know if he's following or not, but she sits on the sled telling Masau to move forward away from this. The wolf can run much faster than she can, and all she wants is to take this time for herself while everything else is crashing down around her. It's terrifying, and every hair stands on end, and she's waiting for anyone to strike at any given second. And when she's far enough away, she tells Masau to stop, and she unhooks him from the sled and crumbles against his fur for a moment just to feel the warmth. Her hands are like ice, the tips of her fingers frozen, and she doesn't know if it's even possible to gain the feeling back, but for now she has to carry on.
She looks at Carbon, pulling the javelin from his chest before placing a dressing to control the bleeding. It's not the most ideal, but she refuses to let him walk around with that thing stuck there. So far she's taken care of him, and given him the attention he needs because people want to hurt him, and once he's tended to, Sorrel grabs the firewood from her bag and takes a match lighting the flames high. The warmth feels so amazing, and being able to feel the blood flowing to her fingers and toes and the tip of her nose is wonderful. It'll only last a little though. Keeping it lit for too long can attract unwanted attention, but for now she welcomes it. "I don't know how long we can keep the fire going, but warm up. Maybe it'll give you some strength back. We're going to need it."
