Yuki was gone.

Amelia patched herself up with what little she had available and sucked at her teeth. Caleb had nearly killed her. If that strike to her neck had been a little deeper or a little higher, that would have been it. And yet, while she contemplated mortality on the edge of a knife she found that she wasn't afraid of it. Everyone had to go sometime. It had been nice to have Yuki watching her back, but just as she felt nothing for the tributes she'd killed, his absence did nothing to upset her. He'd died as he lived, a raging psychopath.

And he'd probably died happy, if annoyed.

It was cold on her sled though. Just her and her wolf. Audrey would be interviewed by the Capitol people now. Top eight. Amelia snorted. Andorra had made it too. When was the last time district nine had done that good? Never, probably. She drew her coat around herself tighter and buried her freezing face in the fur of Chill. He seemed to like it.
