hello Satan, my old friend // yuki's end

The spear barely grazes Nine skin, opening a small gasp on his upper arm. Cursing himself, he tosses his spear to the side, using the last of his strength to pushing his whole body onto the boy. "I'm going to kill you," he hisses, spit flying from his lips, his face only an inch from nines.

Fingers seek out the throat, wrapping themselves around it. He presses harder, determined to cut off the boys life source, to watch as he struggled from breath, as he fought tooth and nail for one suck of life saving oxygen. "Your going to die, and I'm going to watch." Anticipation begins to creep through him, consuming him as he gets a better grasp, but the movement allows the boy beneath him to move, hands shoving at his chest, throwing him off him.

Yuki lands face first in the dirt, snow, dirt and blood filling his mouth. In the corner of his eye he can see Nine gasping, sucking in desperate gasps of air, replenishing his lunges with what they needed most.

Legs broken, shattered beyond repair, Yuki can do nothing but pant as he fought to stay conscious, as he fought against the burning pain in his chest as he breathed through his broken sternum. "I'm going-"

Suddenly there is a pressure upon him, the boy from Nine crashing into his body, fingers wrapped tightly around his neck. Yuki's arms were pinned beneath the boys knees, as he flailed around uselessly in the attempt to push the boy from him.

Nine's fingers tighten, crushing his windpipe as Yuki fought to breathe, as he fought desperately to push the boy off him.

But he was losing.

The pressure in his ears, in his lungs, behind his eyes continue to grow, he felt as though his heart was about to burst, his lungs begging him for the oxygen that they needed. This was his end. Dying like a coward, broken and beaten beneath a boy from the slums of Panem.

It took a moment for him to realise that he was not scared, that his bodies desperation was a natural reaction to having his airways cut off.

Again he tried to suck in some air, spit and blood pooling in the back of his throat. Gaging, and spluttering he glares up at the boy from Nine. He was going to die in the fucking cold, his body abandoned in an icy wasteland. He would be transported home but there would be no family to collect his body. No one knew that mum and dad were buried in the yard. No one knew that for the last year he had been an orphan-

No.

Yuno knew.

His body would be claimed.

Fear begins to surge through him, and he summons all of his energy to try and fight the boy off once again, but his world was turning black, stars dancing at the edge of his gaze.

Yuno would claim his body and do god knows what with it.

But what did it matter? He wouldn't be there to witness the batshit crazy things she would do to his mutilated body. Would she preserve it? Would be bury me in the yard with mum and dad? Would she burn my body as scatter my ashes? She'd probably eat them.

But he would be dead.

She could do whatever the fuck she wanted.

One last surge of panic crashes through him, the pressure in his ears, in his heart and lungs becoming too much. The hands around his throat seemed to press into him deeper and deeper, almost as though Nine was trying to push his body into the burning pits of hell.

Finally, Yuki Amano gives up, his body going still, his heart flailing him for the first and last time.
