Good people don't have to do bad things to get ahead. Who started that rumor?

Perfection is a ridiculously high standard, and I'm not what one would call, 'an adrenaline junkie,' so I'm fine with taking the humble approach every now and again — but sure, I'm quite fond of myself. Kind of hard not to be.

I have good grades, I'm on the homecoming court, I've captained the debate team to three trophies — it's a pretty picture, I can't deny it. Surely, neither can you. Because if there's anyone deserving of praise, I think it'd have to be me. Right? Of course. I know.

It's easy to see me walking down the hallway and think, "Oh, that's Camila Sharpe. She's all that," but I'm so much more, too. Do you think that's vain of me? I mean, just look at what all I've been through. Do you know how hard it was to get the friends that I have?

The designer clothes? The private lessons? None of it had been easy, the things I did to become me, but I still did them. I sucked it up, got it done, and made it right before the bell for my afternoon class. I gave a speech on something I knew nothing about. I totally aced it.

You could call me a nerd, or say that I'm a prude, but I'm not too bothered either way. Do you know how much effort I have to put into the relationship with myself? I'm committed. I'm happy. I've got everything going for me, distractions are the least of my worries.

They say you are only young for so long, to treasure all the memories, to make mistakes. But I never really understood that last part. I don't see the use in making mistakes just for the principle of it. That's literally stupid. Point blank.

I could care less if I'm missing out. All those trashy parties full of future-impaired teens, honestly it just makes me sad. They just need a little structure in their lives, a moral compass that they don't stomp beneath their combat boots. Like savages.

This is not boasting, but I'm what some might call, 'a pinnacle.' I think I have that definition right. You think I'm incredible, regardless. See, I'm so perfectly happy being the uptight girl that has to be the best at everything. Because it just proves my point.

I am the best at everything.

You couldn't imagine, just how hard it is to be a good person. It's a daily effort, something I've pledged myself to, so you can see why I'm so proud of it. All the jokes written in the bathroom stalls are just silly words, and all the whispers in the classroom are background noise.

Who cares? I don't. It's fine. Always is.

So go ahead and drink all of this in, fall in love with me and give me all of your hopes and dreams. I'll take care of them — I'll just be a little more focused on my own. Okay, entirely more focused. I'm my own greatest accomplishment, after all.

And I'd like to keep liking myself.
