I guess the best way of describing my life would be this: it hasn't started yet. I live alone with my mom and don't talk about my dad, I have no friends, and I have been drunk exactly three times. Two of those times were when Mom let me have wine with dinner and the third is from the one and only party I've ever gone to, and I'm pretty sure I was only invited to play the guitar for them. I think this because when I showed up without my guitar, they looked pretty devastated and then no one talked to me unless they were asking if my house was within walking distance or if I knew anyone else who had one.

I guess I'm a pretty good musician. Or, maybe I'm just an average one with too much time on my hands, but it hasn't stopped me from creating pipe dream after pipe dream, hopelessly hoping that I might actually, secretly, genuinely make it big some day. I can't even win high school, though. An entire nation?
