Anthem - Day Two

The sun sets behind dusty, grey clouds. Pollution coats the land, prickling the flesh of tributes who, by now, have suspected the presence of radiation. A few patches of stars can be seen here and there, but for the most part, the night is pitch black.

As the anthem plays and tributes settle in their camps, the metal tower continues to radiate static electricity. Smoke rises from the fire tires, everlasting towers. Machines creak eerily in the oil rig. Water bubbles in the lake, and glass pieces ring at the recycling plant. Tributes cannot escape from the disturbing sounds this place has to offer, but the anthem music allows for a moment of distraction.

And as quickly as it starts, it ends. There are no fallen faces to be honored.
