Do the fun thing. Learn. Strive to Improve. Compete Respectfully.
• Approach differences as a joint learning opportunity, not a win/lose battle.
• Help others feel heard and accepted, and respond with empathy, even when you disagree.
• Criticism should be constructive and specific.
• Reflect on your state of mind. If you're not calm, consider stepping away.
• The Games are competitive. Know your limits. Take care of yourself.
• Try and keep content PG-13 and avoid NSFW messages.
• Avoid derailing active discussions.
• We are a diverse, progressive community and #proud of it.
• No unsolicited promotion outside of #promotion on Slack.
• When approaching staff with an issue, please have logs of specific incidents.
• These guidelines aren't comprehensive. Their spirit matters, so listen to the staff.
• Any instances of discrimination should be referred to the Department Heads and Administrators with logs. This can be done via PM or via the incident report form: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeOYd--KHZxHCUanLJcqBgLxXg2x-0eVgm6I_jwzpbfok2FOQ/viewform
Keeping Discussions Safe
How might we call out the behavior, while calling in the person?
• This is not a source of professional, medical or financial advice, therapy, etc.
• When to seek professional therapy: www.takethis.org/expert-advice/when-to-seek-help/
• Crisis voice/text lines (including free options), therapist directories, and self-care tools: www.takethis.org/mental-health-resources/
• Suicide Hotlines: docs.google.com/document/d/19-h-s87TAfkSxLbIBPw2CrVqvIGz_zgCyx3tcHXUZmk/edit?usp=sharing
• While we recognize that some content on a Hunger Games RPG will be inherently triggering, when discussing sensitive topics on Slack, you are welcome to use a Trigger Warning (TW: subject) and then continue the discussion in a thread.
