It was the best thing in my mother's closet. If being invited to the Capitol isn't enough to make you stress the fuck out, then congrats. Really. Confetti and all. But that's not me. I'm not saying I threw up twice on the train ride here, but give me a damn break. Eighteen years of going unnoticed, and now thousands of people are staring right at me. In a fuckin' grandma dress and a sun hat. I look just perfect for evening tea!

"Hello, you beautiful bitches!" I wince as soon as I say the words, realizing that in my attempt to mimic the popular girls at school I've just cursed in front of a national audience. I refuse to stop smiling, staring intensely at the phone in my hands. The first dare is in, and whether I like it or not, the show has begun. I try to ease into the character I created, the incredible girl with the wild experiences. The one they all want to see.
What are they going to do? Throw me in the Detention Center?
"I'm here on Style Street, living!" I flip the camera just long enough to show off my surroundings, taking this opportunity to widen my eyes in terror. I have no clue what I'm seeing. There's so many colors, and shapes, and people, and— "Anyway, back to me! Star of the show." I grab my hat and toss it away as I appear on the screen again, running my fingers through my curled hair. "Don't mind the silly dress. My little sister just had to give me a dare of her own before I left."
Something inside of me tells me to stop before I cross a line, but the words spill out of me before I can stop myself. "You know how it goes. Nobodies always want a little slice of the pie." Yikes. I swallow, trying to busy myself as I wait for the next notification to appear on my screen. "Okay, babes, let's keep this going. Don't go and leave me bored." I pretend to yawn, breaking out into the fakest giggle.
It's all a performance. Gotta keep 'em entertained.
"And don't hold back!"
