* * *"Oi, Cas, grab your shit, time to break some rules." Narwhal grins at me, eyes twinkling with mischief as he swing his pack over his shoulder. "I heard that some of those rich asshats along the coast managed to import of good quality booooooze. I'm sure they won't notice if a couple crates go missing. Travel damage, maybe?" He winks, making his way up the sandy bank. "Hurry up, we gotta get moving."
"Okay, okay, let me grab my stuff." It had been four years since I had meet Narwhal and the others. Bear finding me on the corner of the markets. I had been a pathetic, starving, scrap of a thing. They had saved me and become so much more than just friends. They were my family and I would give my life for each and everyone of them- well, maybe not Amara, she could be a stone cold bitch at times. Nah, I joke, I joke. I would even take a bullet for Amara, though I would have to think about it for a moment.
Catching up to Narwhal I dust the sand from my shorts, running a hand through my dirty blonde hair. "So, what's the plan?" Narwhal was a master thief. I had watched him navigate through some of the stickiest situations coming out clean and grinning, the goods tucked into his pack. His favourite missions where ones that involved taking from the rich.
You see his family fell victim to one of the wealthiest families of the district, the Gomez's. His parents worked for them on something classified for the Capitol. But when things started to go a little pear shape they were told to get rid of any loose ends. Murdered to look like an accident Narwhal was left orphaned. Thats when he found Killian and Amara, twins who lived under the docks. And they have been inseparable ever since.
"Look this one might get kinda messy," I grin, messy was my favourite. "Don't look to excited, Cas," he says through his own toothy grin, ducking behind a low wall at the edge of an estate. He turns towards the estate, I watch as his gaze changes to something more haunted, the amusement morphing into something cold.
"This is the Gomez estate."
I pause, squatting down beside him. The home of those who murdered his parents.
So... this was personal.
Lets get a little messy then.
"Good thing I don't mind getting dirty."
