Anthem: Day Three

As the sun sets on your second day in the arena, thunderous clouds begin to overwhelm the horizon. The humid air turns charged, you feel goosebumps raise along your arms. You've only a second more to scramble for cover as a jolt of lightning strikes the place you'd just been. A storm has arrived.

The anthem plays, nearly drowned out by the rumble of thunder. One face lights up the sky.

Congratulations on surviving Day 2 campers!

At some point, the sun rises. It must have as a trumpet's tune begins to blare over the speakers located around camp. The storm clouds are so thick the morning announcement is your only indication you've survived another day. The air remains humid and suffocating, you wait for the first raindrop to fall but you don't deserve the relief they would bring. Apollo Monarch's voice calls out, monotonous and stilted as though he's reading from a script, "Good Morning Campers. I've always found storms to be rather calming. I hope you feel the same, for your sake. It doesn't look like it will be letting up any time soon. I'd ask you not to disappoint me, but if yesterday was any indication..." He trails off, a deep sigh prefacing his next words, "Good luck. May the odds be ever in your favor."
