Did I feel bad about snatching up that puppy without any conversation? Originally, maybe. But now, as I watch the cute little pup lick away at the bowl of vanilla ice cream, any ounce of guilt washed away. How could you say no to that cute nose? Sure, theft is a legit crime, but they said the puppies were free! I wasn't a thief, I was just... err, excited to have a furry friend to take home with me? I don't know. Mom hasn't met the pup yet and Dad is still drunk off of his ass, so there's nobody here to tell me to give the dog back. Unless if one of those three running the stand see me. In that case, I guess I'll have to pull my best "mom is too ill to come give you consent" bit.
I also think that, as if I wouldn't crumble to the first finger of authority.
Either way, it's not like I'm a bad dog owner. I'm clearly giving them the food they need! Okay, well, not what they need but obviously what they want! Look at her goin' to town and tell me that she doesn't want ice cream. This also gave me a nice rest from the day. I'd say with my speedy performance in the corn maze and my newfound friend, I've had a good day, which I can be happy about. The only thing I need is an actual friend to talk to, but we'll be working on that! I promised myself to get a friend leaving this place. I've got a few more days, so no worry on that!
Out of the corner of my eye I see a face that I recognize from the puppy drive. Sadly enough, it wasn't one of the people leaving with a puppy. It was one of the puppy vendors. Shit. I place my bag down and try my best to move the puppy (and her ice cream) behind the bag, hoping that it'll block the view of her. Wait. No. If I hide the dog she'll think I lost it. Okay, back to the view of the public she goes. Hopefully they're not mad at me. Would they take her away? I hope not. I guess we'll see.
