County Fair Week Four - Family Event: Challenge Course Relay

FAMILY EVENT: CHALLENGE COURSE RELAY!

Family is a gift that lasts forever, but is family a group that can overcome walls of hay bales and oil-slicked nets? Let’s find out. In this challenge, taking place in a green pasture, numerous obstacles have been placed along a racetrack made by rope strained between old posts. You may see some familiar faces on the other side of this track, cheering you on as you brave the possible fall and the mighty climb.

And remember: whether you win or fall, you’ll be doing it for your loved ones!

RULES

For each obstacle, there will be a fail (or) pass roll. Each fail will come with a time penalty roll from 10-30 seconds. At the end of your turn, you roll a dice for how long it takes to complete the course, then add on each penalty time for total result.

Once the race is finished, all the time rolls of each participant in your team will be added together and the team with the fastest time will win fun prizes! And don’t forget—you need at least a 100 word IC post or you will be disqualified. 

Rope swing:

A lone rope dangles from a high wooden beam, and it’s your only way across a pool of water. Be careful if you don’t want your clothes stained – there’s mud!

Balancing beam:
It’s a walk across three thin beams for the master gymnast amongst the family. If you fall off, you will need to start again.

Net climb:
Climb a net that is securely tossed over a hill of old suitcases as quick as you can, and try not to get yourself tangled in the process. Is that – is that oil on the net?

Hay bale climb:
Another climb, but this time it’s a mighty wall. Four hay bales high, the structure completely blocks out the sun behind it. Brave the climb, but be careful of the mice that may be lurking, they will bite.

Apple bob:
A cowboy binds your hands behind your back. Your only hope of escape is to use your mouth to catch one of the apples that bob before you in a bucket filled with fresh water.
