When I was born I had white-blonde hair, and when the sun shined down on my head as a babe it was blinding. By the time I hit twelve it had darkened to a mousy brown but the fair hairs on my face never caught up. That year in my school picture looked like I'd been born with no eyebrows at all, no lashes either, just milky skin and a wig. Truth is I have hair, all of it is real, my genes just got messed up. Didn't stop the kids from teasing me. Didn't stop me from getting angry.

I punched a boy and he punched me back, I was the only one with the nosebleed afterward so I looked like the loser. But looks can be deceiving. Someone took pity on me and leant me an eyebrow pencil and I decided to bleach my hair anyway, hoping to blind all the children that looked my way for no purpose other than to whisper horrible things in each-others ears.

People loved to pick on me for being a loser, and then Vanya and Love got famous and they picked on me for thinking I was hot-shit. And I didn't! I never mentioned them once, but people just assumed I thought my last name meant something now. A Capitol TV show woulda been cool a decade ago, but everyone and their mother has one these days. And a tribute cousin? You ain't shit until you get a crown on your head and a second season.

They tell me that, pulling me into a locker. I tell them to eat my ass and smack them over the head with a Games Theory book. Tit for tat, y'know?
