Julian Bryze
“Julian Bryze?”
His head tilted in the subtlest of ways as the baritone notes of his name rang in an unfamiliar voice, but Julian’s stride gave no indication he’d been interrupted until the source stood tall in his path. Lost well within his post-run thoughts, it took a moment to register the man’s unexpected introduction.
Julian swallowed back the annoying fluttering within his stomach as his initial attraction washed over him. He internally rolled his eyes at himself, because shit, if he didn’t have a type. Not that it was much of a concern for him these days. He’d sworn off that aspect of his life long ago, and with Snow’s work, he couldn’t remember the last time he didn’t shudder at the mere thought of intimacy.
The butterflies waned though, just as quickly as they had betrayed him, when Alexander Athos’ full introduction sank in. Of course. This was the tool that had been poaching his talent for months, most recently including two of his best athletes when producing another victor had become ever more crucial. Julian’s jaw clenched as he subconsciously rubbed his knuckles, recalling how he’d beat them raw on the punching bag the day they announced their departure. The Capitol had of course cleaned up the scarring on his latest jaunt, but Julian still carried each one, as he did with most of his wounds. It was all on par for an increasingly useless victor.
With a small sigh, Julian folded his arms and stood strong. He gave Alexander another icy blue look down, this time more deliberate and definitive.
“Ah, so you’re the new guy,” Julian tilted his head back slightly, seemingly unimpressed. “Get tired of stealing my clients and decide to just rob me on the street or something? Can’t say I won’t put up a fight, but it’s pretty ballsy. I’ll give you that.”
