Cornucopia - 26 Viewing Nestled snug in a bed of decaying earth looms the Cornucopia. Once a place of worship, it’s obvious the light has not graced this gothic-style Chapel since before you arrived. Chunks of the Chapel lay in piles at your feet damp and dark enough to house the swathes of insects that have come to call it home. Its doors hang open on broken hinges as if demanding worship. Among rotten planks and shards of shattered stained glass lay countless treasures that might aid you on your journey - attending mass may not be mandatory but it’s obvious those who know their place will be rewarded. Those brave enough to approach the altar will find only a simple marble fountain bearing the same forgotten sun. Where you would expect water to spill over the brim, however, churns a thick, red liquid. |

Gothic Castle - 14 Viewing Seated upon the highest hill rests an obsidian castle with spires reaching for the sky. It casts a shadow that seems miles along, yet one cannot help but seek out its curiosities. Anyone who draws near feels a heavy sense of dread anchoring them to the courtyard. Inside, it is luxurious: luscious red rugs, decorated suits of armor, golden chalices at wooden tables, high ceilings, hearths with firewood. There are many rooms to explore, including bedrooms with king-sized beds for tributes seeking refuge. But beware, luxury comes at a price. You may find yourself lost to this house forever if you’re not careful… |

Bat Caves Beneath the depths of the castle lies an elaborate labyrinthian network of tunnels and caverns, each prime for exploration for the truly daring - and prime for swallowing up the unlucky in their depths. Any explorers willing to brave the dim lighting and winding tunnels will likewise have to make peace with the complex’s capricious inhabitants, friend or foe they may be. And should none of this scare you, well, then perhaps you might find tale of a legendary creature, a man who once explored these caverns just like you until he knew every corner and had uncovered any secret. Whether you’ll run into this Man of Bats, as he likes to be called, well….That remains to be seen. |

Bloody Falls - 33 Viewing Chunks of gore trail out of the Chapel doors, giving way to a stream of metallic-smelling liquid. Like an exposed vein, this river of blood rushes toward the cliff face overlooking and long, long fall. Dry amber grass makes up much of the bank on either side, obscuring the unstable earth beneath your feet. The mud pulls you in, up to the ankle for especially height-deficient monsters. Notably, this area feels more alive than the others as if nourished by the life stolen from so many others. Brilliant fields of bright blue flowers extend on all sides, up until where the falls begin. There is little bank at the bottom of the falls, meaning most of its secrets must lie behind that roaring veil. |

Graveyard It’s not immediately apparent as to what makes this place so unique from the graves back home. Sure, there are headstones here and there (some with random but clearly legible names, others so old and worn down it’s a wonder they’re still in one piece), a scattering of trees as dead as their inhabitants, but it’s not until one has spent many an hour traversing past endless tombstones that it really sinks in just how large this place is. Endless rows of graves upon graves house what must be thousands, if not millions, of corpses. Tread carefully, lest you join them as well. |

Wolf Den An abandoned cave seems like the perfect hiding place for exhausted tributes. However, once inside, it becomes clear what this cave used to be: there are the bones of animals scattered about. Rabbits, birds, wolves, humans. A predator once resided here, resting beside an abandoned campfire. It smells of must and decay, and the further you walk in, the more clumps of fur you will find. Evidence of past danger. During the peak of night, one can sometimes hear the howling of a wolf as the full moon creates a perfect beam of light to illuminate the central cavern. |

Lake of Shadow - 22 Viewing Don’t trust it. They say it’s a lake but water doesn’t move like that. Inky indigo tendrils dance just beneath the surface, lapping peacefully at the dozen or so rowboats lined up on its shore. It seems that will be your only way to cross this body of water. At a glance, this place is as peaceful as any waterfront would be on a calm autumn evening. So why is the hair on the back of your neck standing on end? Why does the water cling to your palm like it’s tasting you? It’s the closest thing this place has to water, so you’ll have to face it eventually. Unfortunately for you, the Lake of Shadow seems to be aware of that. |
