Even a career knows when it's time to run but helping someone else goes entirely against everything Derecho knows.

She owes me.

For the first time, Derecho takes in his surroundings, and looking at this tavern almost makes him smile. Every year the gamemakers come up with something creative. It's an honor just being involved in this, yet he can't stop focusing because death can come to those who least expect it. This girl could easily end his life while he assists her out of the bloodbath to a safe place.

I would do it.

But right now it all seems to be working well. Maybe this is how to form an alliance, to bring a couple of people together agreeing to help one another. Having an alliance has never helped him before, it never brought him through the troubles of district four, yet it's different now.

Yet he turns to the girl he's helping, and for the first time he sees the trident she's carrying. This is what he wants, this is what he desires because it's his weapon of choice. It's something he wants to help assist him through the arena and ultimately win the game.

While she's sleeping, I'll steal it.

A sly grin spreads across his face, yet he pushes it away and keeps looking at the trident before looking ahead. "So you're from six?" It's more of a question than a statement, but it's something to break the silence since the silence is deafening. Mostly Derecho wants to know what the other districts are like. Maybe some are better than four, but no matter what, he's super content and proud of where he's come from.

Maybe I should just stay quiet because everyone is better off that way.

"Do you think this is a good place to stop for now before moving again?" It's better than nothing especially since Derecho isn't good at having conversations. This is fine. It's a place to rest, gather some supplies, and see what all they have before moving on to some other location created in this fictional land.
