"i am a machine
i never sleep
i keep my eyes wide open"
Sometimes a guy just wants to explore, and with the beauty of this fictitious land, Derecho wants to explore more. This river reminds him of home, and it freed his soul from the sorrow holding it down. A little bit of water goes quite a long way, but this place is terrifying. All it takes is one wrong move for everything to come crashing down - it's how he found this beer. Yet his eyes wander around as he searches far and high looking for anything that might give him an upper hand in this mess. Of course, it's simply enough. Stay alive, fight like hell, and never give up, but that is easier said than done.
He told Quinn he'd return as soon as possible. Part of him wants to leave her behind and forget about someone related to a victor, but after she gave him the trident, Derecho feels indebted to her again. This weapon also reminds him of home.
Anything that gives him strength is needed. It's something he never thought of before until now either.
Soon the river is a distant memory, and his eyes lock onto these mountains towering tall. The smoke is incredible, it's something fascinating. Something he's never seen before, and it only makes this place even more terrifying. This could be stupid, but he climbs high up the mountain wanting to know what's on top. Wanting to see the entire arena from afar. Maybe this will give him an advantage.
It's hard to breathe, and each step makes him feel as though he's ran a mile because the wind is being sucked out of him. The humming noise brings some sort of relief, yet it brings fear as well. What is this place? All he wants is to explore some more, and maybe take a chance to find his own way without someone holding him down.
I should leave her to die.
She has to die, so why not let others find her and kill her while he has the chance and the excuse of not being there to protect her?
I'm nobody's protector but my own.
A heavy sigh leaves his chest, yet his mind focuses on everything gathered around him. This place is magnificent, but nothing is truly incredible in a hellhole such as this. Pushing all his thoughts away, Derecho knows getting too comfortable and too confident will only end bad, and for now dying isn't part of his plan.
