My foot hurt like hell. Luckily, Elijah had been nearby when that guy from Eight broke it and helped me get out of there as quickly as possible. Now we were lurking at the outskirts of the cornucopia area, just at the edge so that we could keep an eye on anyone who might approach. I kept a look out for our other pre-established allies— Lillybird and Vallen— hoping that they'd make an appearance soon in some sort of non-hostile manner.
I knew we'd agreed to be allies when we were in the training center, but that didn't mean I totally trusted any of these three people yet. I'd studied the Games: allies have betrayed each other in the past. Sometimes they even killed each other at the end for that sweet sweet victory, even if they'd been so tightly bonded until that point, protecting one another. It never lasted forever.
So, I wondered. Would Vallen and Lillybird come for us, or had they run off on their own, not a care in the world about dear Quentin and Elijah?
Lost soul that I was in that moment, I wasn't giving up already. No, a broken foot wouldn't keep me from that wonderful victory I needed and craved. It would just hurt like hell, but I was sure I'd learn to walk on it in time.
Clearly, the people of the Capitol hadn't given up on me, either. As I sat off to the side, watching my surroundings, I heard a faint beeping noise as a couple of silver parachutes descended in my direction. Sponsorship. Already. Nice.
I opened up the packages and found a few things. First was a package of parts of some sort, and some instructions. It looked like they were meant for crafting a piece of armor, which was quite nice to have. Someone out there didn't want me to die quite yet.
In the other, much smaller package, was a glass vial of some sort labeled as "Holy Fae Blood - Autumn". I put it away into my pocket for safe keeping, unsure of exactly what it was, but assuming it'd be something useful.
I looked to Elijah to see if he'd gotten anything from sponsors, or anything of use from the bloodbath.
"Get anything good?" I asked him. I started piecing together the armor kit I'd received as I waited for a response.
-[Quentin receives his IC sponsorship prize of a package of parts and a manual for forging one piece of improvised armor (+4) upon surviving the Bloodbath]
[Quentin puts together his improvised armor]
[Quentin receives his PTS score prize of the autumn vial of Holy Fae Blood]
[Quentin collects ivy rope, a thorn whip and 15ft of bandages from the Cornucopia]
[Quentin does f/a and uses 5ft of bandages]
