Ratmas Day 2: Battle of the Multiverse

ALL ABOARD?

The train lurches into the station in a tangled cloud of steam and smoke. For a moment there is only the screech of metal against itself and the heat of its blazing engine before the AU Express slows to a complete stop. A year has passed since you gave yourself to the technology humming within, and were allowed to escape Panem’s cruel reality for a while.

You await the now familiar sight with baited breath. A small crowd has begun to gather around the platform, your fellow passengers whose excitement mirrors yours. That is, until the last of the smoke clears.

What sits in front of you is nothing like you remember.

The train’s chromatic finish has worn away in patches, revealing rusted iron beneath. Its faint neon glow flickers frantically and sometimes not at all. Most of its windows have been shattered, huge chunks missing from spiderwebs of glass. It belches out a cloud of blackened ash as its doors creak open with a high-pitched wail.

Inside the compartment is entirely gutted, with sparking wires trailing along the floor. To your left wait rows of immersive pods bathed in red light. To your right lie more, this time bathed in blue. Pinned to the far wall is a single piece of parchment, stained with darker liquid - motor oil? - around a shaking script.

One word:

Welcome, passengers, to the BATTLE OF THE MULTIVERSE. Who will you fight for?

Upon finding the Master of the Multiverse (tick 12a / calla ), she got to work wreaking havoc in their new realm with the help of their loyal followers (maverick hale 🌧️ d5 [nyte] ) (eulalie blake 1a 🍒 tris ) (L△LIA ). The AUs are now locked in a battle to the death, and only you have the power to decide who survives. During each stop, you and your fellow passengers will cast your vote in your thread trackers before making your first post.

Whichever universe receives the most in-character posts will be deemed the victor, and earn its participants some extra points. The warrior who fights the hardest for their given universe will also be named its Champion, and receive an aesthetic signature graphic.

While you may only vote for one universe in a given battle, you are free to post in the other AU but we will not be counting those posts toward its total.

Passengers may return to the universe right before the current stop and still receive points. Universes earlier than that are ineligible, and posts will not count toward its total.


The rules are as follows:

• Sign up here, and post your tracker in this thread!
• You must declare which universe you are fighting for in your trackers before your first post.
• The train will reach a new stop every other day.
• Passengers may also visit the stop directly before the current one. This should total 4 days to earn points in every universe except the grand finale.
• Each post is worth 1 point.
• The universe with the most points will be declared the winner, and everyone whose tracker states they were fighting for that universe will receive 2 bonus points.
  
• The member who posted the most for their universe, regardless of if the universe won, will be named its Champion and receive a signature graphic + 1 bonus point.
• This event will end on January 6th at 11:59 pm PST.
