Appearance
I have wavy dark treacle brown, which is around mid back length. I always tie it up with an emerald green ribbon, so that it doesn't get in the way of my face. I have oval, ebony coloured eyes with dark long lashes. I have a round face with rosy cheeks which stand out against my dark skin. My nose is wide and slightly flat, while my lips are thin a long.
I am tall, around 5 foot 8 and have an athletic frame- with slight muscled legs to prove it. My shoulders are broad and neck, with a straight sure back to support them. My hands are worn and scared from working in the trees all the time- blisters often occur from where I hold onto tree bark all day long. I have a flat stomach and prominent hips because I don't eat a lot. I often wear tank tops, along with khaki green ¾ lengthened combats and to finish it all off- worn dusty coloured trainers.
Personality
I have a sour attitude- one where I am sarcastic and nasty with almost everything I say. I will often shout and scream about things that annoy me- like the games- before going off fuming. I often find myself in trouble at work with these random sharp out bursts. Which can be a problem if your as poor as I.
However, when I want to- I am nice. Nice being complementing someone. I never- well rarely- hug or show caring emotion towards anyone. This means I am a bit of a loser but, I don't care what people think of me. I see myself as an independent woman- who can sometimes get a bit too big for her own shoes.
I guess be a little bit of a hopeless romantic. Not that I show it anyway. I like to think of what my life would be like if I married Bob or Bill or Fred- I can get a bit day dreamy sometimes thinking of these things. Course, I've never had a boyfriend but I do have plenty of friends who are boys. They're nice enough- as friends anyway.
History
I was born 15 years ago in a little hovel somewhere in the place I call home- District 11. Nice place-, I guess if your a pig. I was the second child and the least wanted of me and my sister. My sister Gemma was always smarter, prettier and nicer than me. My parents never wanted me, I was an accident. And well you know- Abortion is expensive and dangerous here in District 11 but that's for another day.
Gemma, was doing well. Until of course she got reaped. I couldn't really understand why she'd been picked and not me. Anyway, she got far. Powerful- stronger than I thought but Death didn't miss her. Oh no, I watched as a boy from our own district gouge her eyes out menacingly. So my sister died and my parents were stuck with little old sulky me. They, themselves were lazy so it didn't help the situation we had been left in.
My sister Gemma was the one who worked to put bread on the table- with her gone, I was left to do it all. To my surprise- it was fun. I liked climbing in the trees to pick the ripe fruit. I liked how the sun kissed my head everyday for almost 3 hours. Course I had to fit it around school- but who needs school. However all the extra work was hard, and only now do I realize how Gemma must have felt being practically a slave for our parents.
