The taste of salt was reassuring; it lingered on his skin, feeling him with happiness. Happiness that only the sea could bring out of him. It burned through his veins, a comfortable burning sensation that washed through his body, warming him up. He loved the sea. It’s open blue oceans, it’s deep deaths, deaths so mysterious, so secretive. A big mystery waiting to be solved… but not letting you at the same time. It made him want to stay out there, just look into its depths, the depths that have so many stories to tell. But that is not why Evaman was out here today. Today he was surfing. Ev loved surfing with all his might, to him it was more than standing around on a board riding waves… he was deeply connected to it, like he couldn’t live without it.

Surfing was so much more than surfing to Ev. It was a memory of his father. His father who had a passion so strong for it, that Ev couldn’t handle it but to join him, to see him happy, like while he was surfing nothing could take him down he was invincible. But really he wasn’t, his father was a dead man. You see Ev had never really been close to his father. But surfing? That’s what had joined them together, it was the only time his father had ever interacted with him in a… affectionate way. Only time he had ever shown that he loved him. But no matter how much remorse his father might have had for him, he loved him to the bottom of his heart.

His thought resurfaced just in time to see the approaching wave. The wave stood tall and proud as it advanced on them. Adrenaline rushed through Evamans veins has the stood poised ready for the wave to take him away. Ready for him to show the other surfers around him, what surfing is really about. Be could practically feel the waves hunger as he gripped his board. The waves power, urgency to reach the shore, to take out the people who stood in its path. The wave too him away, but it was Ev who was controlling his movements, movements that might not of been the wises choice. It waqs too late for the girl that resurfaced has Evamans board went ploughing to her head, “Watch out!” Evaman managed to scream to the girl, before she disappeared under the surface.

Oh my god, what had I done? Evaman thought has he searched the surging water around. As he searched for any sign of the girl. The girl that he might of just killed. Panic surged through him stronger that the water around him. What was I gonna do? he thought desperately, praying that the girl would resurface soon.

Fishing through his earlier thoughts, he didn’t even remember seeing this girl. Actually, how could he say it was a girl? He doesn’t remember. The color of their hair. Was it long? Brown? Short? Blonde? It was all just a blur. A colourless blur, that swirled through his mind, his unstable mind. The water around him seemed to darken in the hectic mood of his search. The panic still thick. hey he said to himself no need to stress, really it wasn’t your fault. the thought didn’t comfort him at all. He couldn’t. just couldn’t see how he would get through this if this… girl? Was dead. Even though he didn’t know her. He just couldn’t. it would just be too much for him.

A disturbance in the water caught his attention. Then out of know where a head exploded form the surface of the water. It was a girl. The girl he had hit. She was alive. He sighed in relief, as a wave of happiness rolled over him. She was alive. She looked a bit shaken, and like she was trying to hold back a screaming fit. Evaman smiled to himself. He had heard about this girl. just from her look, he knew who she was. She was the Bitch. As his friends would refer to her. she was someone who tended to keep to herself but still got a name. A code name.

Her head bobbled around in the water as she looked around. Ev wiped the smile off his face, and replaced it with a face that confirmed that he was concerned for the girl, which he really was, he had hit her with his board. But she still wasn’t the person he had expected. Luckily it was me who had hit her! he snickered to himself, because if it was some of my mates they would have just laughed and paddled away. she slowly edged closer to Evaman being careful to make sure that her feet could still touch the sandy bottom of the endless blue water that surrounded them.

‘'Scuse me?" she called out to Evaman, her voice rang through Evamans ears, her voice clear. "Did I get in your way? Sorry about that..." she asked with a small laugh, then she smiled slightly as she looked up at Evaman.

Evaman was a little taken aback. Surprised. This was definitely not the confrontation he was expecting. There was no bitterness in her voice. Nothing that suggested she was being sarcastic. Nothing. Just that she was genuinely sorry. He tried to hide the emotion from his face by looking away, and scratching behind his ear, the movement seemed natural, but there was a bit of jerkiness in it, hopefully not enough to tick the girl off.

“umm, yeah, but don’t stress about that!” He said finally brushing the question away. “What about you? Are you okay? I mean my board nearly took your pretty little head off those shoulder!” He said adding half a smile to his dark skin. A smile that would have dazzled normal girls. He wasn’t sure if this girl bobbling around in front of him was normal, but he gave it a shot.
