A
my LeonTime.
If you could go anywhere in time, where would you go? The rebellion? You grandfather's childhood? A decision that changed your life for the worst? Or would you go tot he future? I would go to the unknown, that small place far off that everyone thinks about but no one ever actually seems to discover. The end of the world. The end of everything that ever is and ever was, all poof in one single moment. I suppose it will happen quickly. One day the sun with simply get too close to the planet and everything will burst into flames. Or maybe a lab experiment gone wrong will release a gas into our atmosphere, ultimately ending life as we know it. Maybe not completely. Richer people, or lucky people will get ahold of some technology and the world will not have ended after all. I have heard people say the human race is strong. It would take a lot to get rid of us, with our adaptability and ferociousness of... time.
It always comes down to time. Not enough time, all this time, flying time, time standing still, running out of time. I paint the last number on the clock, and carry it across my kitchen to the slightly pulled out nail, hanging it on the wall. The tick tock tick of the new clock satisfies me, and my hands are calm for once for the entire day. I knew I'd needed to finish that clock. A month of scavenging for parts and trying to find time to work on it had resulted in a beautiful creation. Already invented, but something I had made myself. Now the time was exact, I had made sure of that. My beautiful clock. I'll name it Trenton. Trenton the Clock of Amy Leon, which means it is Trenton Leon. A very nice name.
One last glance at the clock, and feeling rather sumptuous, I find my way outside, swinging from the doorpost a few feet forward. It seems a fine day to live, the sun shining bright and just enough humidity to feel happy. A good day to have company, but a good day to be quiet just the same. I don't think I'll be turning that clock forward today. I want it to last - this fine weather. No one can possibly be grumpy on this day. Finding the square, I sprint across to a store and run in expectantly. To discover one's invention has been sold is a grand idea, and taking the money, I immediately decide to buy some food with it. There was enough. Twenty-seven would easily buy five apples, one watermelon, a small bag of grapes, and some strawberries. Unless the watermelon was on sale for half, which the grocer said it might, in which case I could go across the street and get a handful of almonds and trade them with a friend for a few oranges. I don't like oranges, I will just keep the change.
Dashing back out of the store, I realize I had dropped the money somewhere. Now I need to reverse time. Turning back the hands, I feel time's retrogression walking backwards, bumping into a few souls still going forward but eventually reaching the store again. A few glances around, and I see the little bundle laying on the ground. My little feet bring me forward on a short spoor, but another body comes down in front of me, reaching. Reaching! For my own? I move under the body quickly, pushing it up and away, and carefully pick up the money. My head snaps up, staring at this person. An older male, definitely never seen him before.
(Sorry if the post is a bit confusin, I thought she ought to be scatter brained)
